On a global scale, Meta-owned applications Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and Threads suffered a major outage on Tuesday, resulting in millions of users losing access to these social media platforms.

According to Downdetector, a website that tracks website outages, there have been more than 100,000 reports of Facebook going down, and that number is growing.
Similarly, Instagram also faced an outage reported by more than 20,000 users worldwide.

The cause of the outage remains unclear as the company has not yet released an official statement. The failure is believed to be one of Meta’s most significant in recent years.
While using the Facebook and Instagram apps, I received several error messages, including “Please log in again. Your session has expired” and “Unable to refresh your feed.” These disturbances began on Tuesday around 8:30 p.m.

“We understand that people are having trouble accessing our services, and we are currently working on this issue,” Meta spokesperson Andy Stone said in a post on X social media.
WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta, has not experienced any service interruptions so far. However, recently launched competitor Threads is currently facing downtime.

Last July, there was a massive outage that affected various meta platforms, including WhatsApp. Service was successfully restored later the same day. The outage, which occurred in July, came weeks after a similar issue was reported in June.
