“I hope he has to be arraigned in an orange jumpsuit and shackles like everyone else,” Maldonado said in a Fox Digital statement.
Claiming his innocence after being convicted of trying to hire a hitman to kill an animal rights activist, Maldonado is committed to exonerating himself, saying, “In this slow system, I want to help other people who are stuck and unite this country instead of tearing it apart.”

In 2020, Maldonado was sentenced to 22 years in prison for 17 counts of animal cruelty and two charges related to hiring someone to kill activist Carol Baskin. Regardless, Tiger Lover maintains his innocence.
“I have never abused an animal in my life. I am not here for animal cruelty. I am here to take an endangered species without permission,” he said. .
Maldonado said his beliefs are an example of why the country is “so corrupt”.

“I have a lot of libertarian supporters who agree with me … everyone agrees on something because you can’t be a Republican, you can’t be a Democrat, you can’t be a Libertarian. We are running a country of 330 million different kinds of people.
“The Tiger King” said voters should consider him as president “if they agree we need change.”
