One former teacher said she decided to quit her job after noticing that her salary was low and earning more money while working as a server.
Taylor (@taylorryannardone) isn’t the only former educator who decided to quit her job for something else. This other teacher decided to happily leave the classroom to work at Costco.

“How could you afford to quit your job, how do you make a living?” Taylor said in an affected voice, mocking those who consistently asked these questions even after quitting. Because I was underpaid at my job,” he says.
On average, teachers in the United States are surprisingly underpaid compared to other developed countries. CNBC analyzed salaries of educators around the world. The United States is her seventh. However, it is considerably less when you factor in other factors such as the cost of living in the area where the teacher lives, the value of the salary many US teachers receive, and deductions for health insurance and union dues.
The difference in average teacher salaries in the United States is surprisingly low when compared to countries such as: Luxembourg offers $101,360 to teachers. United States: $62,102, a difference of about $40,000. Tesla Model 3 RWD model.
Germany is second on the list, giving an average of $80,407 a year for teacher jobs, while Canada lags behind European countries at about $9,000.
Taylor goes on to explain why she left teaching in the clip, saying, “After five years of teaching work, I was making $55,000 a year. I was underpaid at my job.”
He adds in the text overlay that his actual take home after deductions is $38,000.
“I now work three days a week as a server and make that amount. If I went to a fine dining restaurant, it would double,” he explains. “So how are you guys going to pay the bills, I haven’t made much money so far.”
Taylor then explains that he was “willing to withhold ‘security’ for a short time to see where this road would lead. [him.]”
“I know I’m not committed to anything. I can always go back to the field and start something new. There’s potential there,” he concludes. Don’t condition yourself with fear.”
The Daily Dot reached out to Taylor via email for further comment.
Many TikTokers agreed with their assessment of Taylor’s decision to change the trajectory of her career.

Others said that as a teacher, Taylor’s earnings have fallen significantly compared to her previous salary, with one user writing:
