Day of the Jackal star Eddie Redmayne chats with Extra’s Billy Bush, days after he was nominated for a Golden Globe for his performance in the series.
Eddie said: It was quite tough work that lasted a year and a half. This was kind of a passion project for everyone involved, and I think there was a lot of trepidation for everyone involved because the original movie was so great. ”
He described the positive response to the project as “amazing.”
Eddie said the most difficult part of the role was the language, adding: “It was the combination of that and the prosthetics. So you kind of learn the language in your voice, and then when you put the prosthetics on… , he looked 65 years old and realized he had to lower his voice an octave.”

Redmayne, who often appears in movies, said he enjoys the fan response to the series, which leaves viewers wondering what happens next. “People stop you on the street with a kind of passion, saying, ‘What’s going to happen?’ Why did he do that?’ … I think that’s very thrilling. I did.”
“The Day of the Jackal” has been renewed for a second season, and Eddie didn’t want to reveal anything, but did say: Maybe Maldives? Maybe Bali? Maybe skiing? ”

In fact, it’s my line sitting next to me. I am studying furiously so that I can start shooting in the new year. ”
