European Defense Agency (EDA) announced the Tactical Personnel Recovery Mission Simulator (TPRMS). The system has achieved full operational capability (FOC).
The FOC milestone was marked by a ceremony held at the Italian Air Force Base Poggio Renatico on December 7.
It was attended by government officials and representatives from eight member states including the Czech Republic, Cyprus, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland and Romania.
Officials from five international organizations, including the European Personnel Recovery Center, the United States Joint Personnel Recovery Agency, and the NATO Joint Air Force Capabilities Center, also attended the FOC event.
As part of the event, Italian Air Force personnel gave a live demonstration of a training session within the TPRMS system.
The team demonstrated the training system’s performance and technology using specially designed virtual reality scenarios.
The TPRMS system allows the military to safely carry out personnel recovery missions. Otherwise, rehearsing with live training scenarios is considered life-threatening.
EDA CEO Jiri SEDIVY said:

According to the EDA, the TPRMS has 20 posts and recreates the components of a personnel recovery force made up of ground soldiers, ground combat vehicle crews, rotating and fixed air wing crews, and PR mission planners. .
Following the FOC, EDA launched a TPRMS pilot course to support a common approach to training public relations forces in eight countries for future deployments.
