On Monday night, an armed robber allegedly cut a hole in a man’s pants and stole cash, ATM cards and a mobile phone at knifepoint.
Boston Police said they received a report of an armed robbery at 406 Meridian Street in East Boston shortly before 7 p.m. Monday. According to the victim, when he arrived, the suspect approached him with a knife and demanded money.
When the victim refused to hand over the cash, the suspect cut a hole in the man’s pants and removed the cash, bank card and cell phone. The suspect then held a knife to the man’s throat and demanded his PIN number. The victim refused again, but the suspect threw the victim’s cell phone and bank card on the ground and fled.
Police said they were able to quickly locate the suspect and recover the knife used in the robbery.
The suspect, identified by police as 36-year-old Brandon Frazier of East Boston, was arrested and charged with armed robbery and possession of a dangerous weapon. He was scheduled to be arraigned in East Boston District Court.
