A brief altercation broke out between apparently pro-Trump and anti-Trump protesters in the heat outside a Manhattan courthouse.
A woman wearing a red MAGA hat held up a large black banner reading “Trump always lies” and crossed over to a group of protesters who were shouting “He’s lying”.
A Trump supporter tripped and fell and was told by anti-Trump demonstrators that she was on the wrong side.
It was not clear who threw it, but a brawl ensued in which the demonstrators threw punches.

Rep. George Santos leaves court area ahead of protest due to ‘chaos’
Confused Congressman George Santos, RN.Y., departed from Manhattan’s courthouse neighborhood ahead of a pro-Trump protest he was due to attend.

Judge Juan Merchan allows five pool photographers to take pictures from the courtroom.
“Before arraignment begins,” the judge wrote in the order.
However, Merchan denied requests by media outlets to allow photography and video recording during the proceedings themselves. Cameras are allowed in the corridors of the Manhattan Supreme Court.
Trump’s attorneys opposed requests for cameras in court, saying they encouraged a “circus-like atmosphere.”
Media outlets whose cameras have captured images of the pool in court are the Daily Mail, New York Post, Associated Press, Reuters and Getty.

Trump Campaign Sends ‘Final’ Fundraising Petition Before Arrest
Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign continued to leverage his looming arrest in Manhattan as a fundraising tool, this time sending out a solicitation with the subject line “My Last Email Before Arrest.”
An email from Trump’s Joint Fundraising Committee, written in the style of a letter from the former president, lamented the “loss of justice in America.”
“Today is the day to decide the ruling party. arrest Its primary opponent for committing no crime,” reading the message, it also confused Trump’s self-perceived plight with wrongdoing to the state.
At the bottom of the email, supporters were asked to “make a peaceful donation” to the committee.

Trump calls for moving criminal cases from Manhattan to Staten Island

Trump wants to move his criminal cases to Staten Island, calling the Manhattan Supreme Court a “very unfair venue.”
“This case should be moved to nearby Staten Island, a very fair and safe place for a trial,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social account.
Staten Island is also the only borough of New York City where a Republican won the destined 2020 reelection bid against President Joe Biden. Trump won 57% of the vote in Staten Island.
Biden had the largest margin of victory over Trump in Manhattan. Democrats won 86.7% of the vote.
Trump also blamed Manhattan Court Judge Juan Marchan for handling his arraignment. He claimed that the “very partisan judge and his family” were “notorious Trump haters.”
Trump is angry about the handling of Merchants Inc. in the Trump Organization’s criminal trial, which was convicted of a tax evasion scheme in late 2022.

In a series of late-night posts on the eve of his historic arrest and arraignment, Trump has launched some of his harshest attacks yet against Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.
The former president, who reportedly faces dozens of criminal indictments related to alleged document fraud stemming from a 2016 Bragg investigation into hush-money payments, said the DA had “completely cleared” Trump’s indictment. He claimed without proof that he leaked “information.”
Trump called on Bragg to “indict himself” and “resign now!” He claimed that “there was no crime committed by Trump.” The former president has repeatedly vented his anger at Bragg in recent weeks, even calling him a “Soros-backed animal,” sparking accusations of bigotry.
