On Wednesday, Donald Glover was in New York to star in “Mr. & Mrs. Smith,” a new spy comedy series with Maya Erskine.
Extra’s Mona Kosar Abdi sat down with Donald to talk about how the show offers a different perspective than Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s famous films, and recounts her conversation with Brad.
After watching the Brad and Angelina movie, he wanted to try a different take on the “sexy part.” He said: “I was wondering what sexy is today.”
Donald said of his conversation with Brad: He said, “No, I’m sure you’ll do just fine.” Just follow that thought. It’s really a matter of human relationships. ‘So I think I wanted to focus on this part of the relationship…I think we’ve really locked down ideas of like what’s sexy in the long run, That’s cool. ”
People have been raving about his chemistry with Maya, but Donald admitted it was “awkward” at first. He added, “We didn’t even test for chemistry, but then gradually we became very close…Now we are very close and close to our families.” added.
Donald recently helped President Barack Obama’s daughter Malia produce her first short film, and it looks like they’ll be working together soon. He teased, “She has great vision so we’re working on something right now and we’ll see how it goes.”
Donald also expressed his excitement for Usher to represent Atlanta at the Super Bowl LVIII halftime show. he said: “I’m so happy…He told me early and it was a secret and I was so excited…I’m so happy for him.”
Glover recently saw Usher perform in Las Vegas and said, “Is this guy old? I didn’t know he could skate like that. He was singing and skating.”
“Mr. & Mrs. Smith” will premiere on February 2nd on Prime Video.
