Just days after breaking news of his departure from CNN, Don Lemon hit the red carpet for the Time 100 Gala in New York City.
Tommy Didario of “Extra” spoke with Lemon and he revealed what’s next for him this summer.
Although his departure came as a “surprise” to him, Don commented: It’s behind me and we’ll see what happens in the future. ”
When asked if he would do anything different, Lemon replied,
He stressed, “I don’t look back and I don’t want to change the past… I move forward.”
Speaking of his future plans, Lemon said: I’ll just calm down and see what happens next, but I’m lucky to be in a position where I can do that.
“I have time,” Don said. “If you want another job, don’t rush to get another one.”
“I’m excited about the new chapter,” Lemon said, adding, “I think life is short. Whatever life gives you, you have to bob and weave and do it. I didn’t expect to get a phone call in the evening at work saying my sister had died, but I had to deal with it, I didn’t expect my dad to die young from diabetes… “There’s a lot going on, but I’m surviving. I come from a strong, sturdy family in Louisiana, and a lot of people are rooting for me and loving me.”
Don also opened up about relying “a lot” on partner Tim Malone, saying, “He’s been my biggest supporter.”
