Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks join forces for the first time to co-host the 58th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards.
“Extra” Alecia Davis catches up with country music icons and prepares for the big night.
“This is the first time we’ve actually worked together and I can’t believe how excited people seem to be about it. I knew we were on such a big deal. Was it?” Dolly teased her co-host.
“No, but I knew that being with you was such a big deal,” Garth replied. Did you?” “I personally passed out,” joked the “Friends In Low Place” singer.
“I’m really excited. It’s going to be fun,” Garth added.
This year’s lineup of ACM performers includes special performances by Keith Urban, Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean, Luke Combs and Dolly herself.
“Spoiler alert. I will never forget the first time I met her, and the last time I saw her,” Garth teased.
It’s definitely been a big week for Dolly! On Tuesday, the “9 to 5” songstress will have a special pop-up at her store, “Dolly! All Access,” in Frisco, Texas, where the ACM Awards are held. “Dolly! All Access” sells Legend’s iconic stage fashion and souvenirs.
Dolly says one thing ACM viewers can expect is a good time. “We’re doing a big production of a rock song at the end of the show. God knows what happens in the meantime, but I’m sure you’ll have a good time.”
