The 2024 election was a call for the Democratic Party to wake up, but five months later they are still asleep. Donald Trump’s victory over Kamala Harris burned into a nine-point lead between parents, making his parents’ party a GOP. Trump worked hard to choose his school, banishing transgender ideology from the classroom and banning critical race theory (CRT) and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) nonsense. Harris barely mentioned education. Two votes by Atlassintel, a top-notch poller, showed Trump was bastarding her on the issue. But Democrats haven’t learned. They are repelling their families and doubling their policies that ignore the reasons.
In Colorado, House Democrats passed House Bill 25-1312 by voting 36-20 on Sunday. This can be detained from parents who do not affirm the “selected gender” of the child and House Bill 25-1309. Ironically, they plunged these trans crazy bills during a special Sunday session. They fall into symbolism as many families trample on their parents’ rights on the day they protect them for faith and rest. Colorado Democrats even voted to invoke Rule 16 to shut down debates over these bills, opposed to rushing their agenda.
Colorado Democrat Yara Zokaye compared parent groups against House Bill 25-1312 with the KKK, smearing them as hate groups at a committee hearing in April 2025, showing how far Democrats would go to challenge them. Colorado Republican Rep. Jarvis Caldwell blows up the bill and says, “If they’re going to confuse your child and you don’t declare that confusion, they’ll take your child out of you.”
Trump wrote the DEI government’s death penalty. The school’s policy should be like this next time
In Illinois, Democrats pushed homeschooling restrictions in 2025, and last month the House Bill 2827 Committee passed an 8-4 partisan vote. Over 42,000 people opposed it, a slip, a deafening roar, but all Democrats ignored them, and ignored the will of the people. If it passes, homeschool parents could face fines and prisons for up to 30 days.
In Washington, House Democrats voted for the amendment to Bill 1296, which requires immediate parental notice if a student is a victim of sexual misconduct by a school employee. Sen. Jamie Pedersen, D-Seattle, doubled in a February interview with Fox News, saying, “Children over the age of 13 have the full right to make their own decisions about mental health care. Parents have no right to notify them. They have no right to agree to it.”
Meanwhile, in West Virginia, all House Democrats voted against the Parents’ Bill of Rights in March, denying basic transparency and control of their families.
Nationally, all Senate Democrats blocked the protections of women and girls in sports law, making the filibuster inability to overcome.
Even Rahm Emmanuel, a former Obama employee, is seeing the confusion. In an April interview with Chris Schiritza, he urged Democrats to apologise for the closure of schools throughout Covid, admitting that they had cratered their children academically and mentally. A 2023 American Economic Review survey showed that closures reduced mathematics and reading scores, causing low-income children to be the hardest hit, while a 2022 Jama Pediatrics study linked to rising anxiety and depression. Teacher unions like the NEA and AFT will push for these shutdowns and give Democrats 99% of their campaigns.
Emmanuel’s call is ironic. He is famously said, “Don’t let the crisis go to waste.”
Trump read the room. His parents are tired of unions and bureaucrats that turn schools into labs that have become woken up. His school choice pitch empowers the family. His pledge to end transgender policies, like a young girl sports boy, coincides with the sentiment of the people. His CRT-DEI is a disgust to the divisional curriculum. The Atlascintel polls didn’t just show that Trump won. They showed a reorganization. The Democrats once ruled this grass. Now they are losing their parents quickly.
A January New York Times/Ipsos poll found 79% were opposed to men in women’s sports. 67% of Democrats and 94% of Republicans. The 2024 Center Square vote showed that 59% support a federal ban on procedures such as adolescent blockers and minors’ gender reassignment surgery. A 2023 Washington Post/KFF poll found 68% of adults were opposed to adolescent blockers for children aged 10-14.

In school choice, a 2023 RealClear Opinion Research poll found 66% of Democrats and 80% of Republicans support 71% nationwide. Trump hit these. Harris dodged.
Since November, the Democrats have not reflected it. They are plowing first. Illinois House Bill 2827 targets parents who flee public schools. The Colorado bill places ideology on top of evidence. Washington’s secrets and Pedersen’s stance clash with the base’s views, similar to West Virginia’s refusal to custody. Democrats continue to choke school choices, ignoring 71% of public support.

There is a faint hope. Rep. La Shawn Ford, D-ILL. But the leadership of the party remains bound by the union, blinding voters to scream for change. Trump’s nine-point parental voice victory was a power of attorney. Families are seeking choices, not forced. It’s not mathematics, Marxism. It’s not secret, it’s safety.
Democrats can embrace and embrace options and respect biology. Instead, they bet that their parents don’t care. They’re wrong. November 2024 was a warning. Their parents’ party is rising and unless Democrats wake up, they continue to lose those who claim to fight.
