Like a morning cup of coffee or an energizing can of Celsius, Bucs wide receiver David Moore has energized the Bucs offense. Whether it’s brightening up the mornings of his fellow wide receivers at 7 a.m. at the AdventHealth Training Center or simply bringing a positive presence and attitude to the locker room, Moore quickly became the “more” guy on offense. He is the glue that earns him playing time.

WR David Moore and OC Dave Canales have a strong bond
Bucs offensive coordinator Dave Canales has watched David Moore’s career up close, dating back to his time as wide receivers coach during Moore’s rookie season and coaching him through 2020. The two continued to work hard even as Moore bounced around the league the following year. In contact. Their connection is special.
“It’s really like a connection, but it’s hard to explain because it’s so strong. A bond, just him being there for me,” Moore told Pewter Report Thursday. “On and off the field since I got into the NFL. Even when I took a year off, he was still there for me when I needed him. I miss Dave so much. I love you on condition. He’s one of the greatest people I’ve ever met and I’m really happy to be back here with him.”
Canales felt like share your story He talked about that in Thursday’s press conference, including his friendship with David Moore, who is emerging as the No. 3 wide receiver behind Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.
“”but” [David Moore] And not just the familiarity that I have for him, but also a great story of a guy who really struggled for two years. [and] After he left Seattle, he moved around a few places and had a really hard time finding a home. But it was something near and dear to my heart,” Canales said. “I was a receivers coach and drafted him in the seventh round out of East Central Oklahoma. To watch him grow as a young player and now…you’re not just a football player, you’re about a positive guy. I’m talking.
“You see what he can do after the catch, but really, as a guy, for our group, even during the games where we lost six of seven games, he was a consistent player. He had a constant smile on his face. He was checking out the guys. He was just floating around, just a connector. It was bigger than that and there were other places to get opportunities. I think it came from his appreciation for it. I was so happy for him.”
David Moore’s touchdown catch at Lambeau Field came against the Green Bay Packers, the last team he qualified for the regular season. Between the Seahawks and Bucks, he had coffee with the Panthers, Raiders, Broncos, Packers and Bears. After the game, Moore talked about what this big play meant to him.
Canales also talked about how big a moment it was to see Moore score. “Green Bay [was] Canales was one of the spots that had him hooked for a while but didn’t want him. Canales added that it was a special moment and a really scary moment where he almost got punched out of the ball. “We were all there on the sideline trying to strangle him. [laughs]. I was really happy and his wife Lizzie was really happy for him too. That’s one of her guys too. It was a special moment. ”
David Moore worked hard to get here and had a great presence in the locker room.
David Moore had to fight to get to this point. Yes, he’s had to pack his bags a few times, but now he’s here in Tampa Bay contributing. He was one of the players who stepped up last Sunday, and it could be a turning point in his second chapter in the NFL.
“It was truly a blessing,” Moore said. “Just trying to fight all year long and stay there and be there for the team and be there whenever they need me. That’s a huge thing for me and for the team as well. It was a really happy moment to be able to celebrate with my friends who have fought alongside me. Even when I was feeling down, they encouraged me and vice versa. That just meant a lot to me. It was.”
They were drafted in 2017, the same year Chris Godwin was drafted, and each has a wealth of experience in the league. Godwin talked about how Moore’s story is one of perseverance and how beneficial that will be to the locker room Thursday. “‘D-Mo,’ he was a great presence in our locker room,” Godwin said. “Me and him [have] As he’s gotten closer over the past year, I think we’ll see him take a chance where he’s played in the past and go for a simple little out route. [he] Did you keep your distance?
“I think this shows his value as an experienced player, a veteran with plenty of experience in this league. [is] He is ready to fill in whenever he is needed. It’s a lesson in perseverance for many young players, but more than that, it’s an example of players stepping up when their number is called on their team. ”
What else does David Moore bring to the Bucks’ WR room? Aggression and energy
On a Bucs roster full of young and developing wide receivers, David Moore brings a positive mindset that uplifts those around him. When asked about what he brings to the room, Moore mentioned his mindset and how he approaches each day.
“What I think about myself is that I just approach my work with a positive attitude.” [Canales] said Moore. “But that’s just how I was raised. If you have a bad day or a bad day or something bad happens, you can’t just shut up and let it go; you just pick it up and move on. See what I mean?
“Don’t think about the past and move on to what’s next. Keep a smile on your face, it will brighten someone else’s day. I don’t think anyone is depressed. There won’t be any, so I just come to the room every day and laugh and play and try to get everyone excited. I’m supposed to be here at 6:30-7. [a.m. in the morning], It’s early. So if you approach the day with a positive attitude, the day will pass better. ”
After having coffee with other teams, he’s now the energy and coffee for the Bucks’ offense.
“[Laughs] I strive to be that,” Moore added. “We all have our days. Chris [Godwin] Incoming tray [Palmer], everyone has their own days. But they came in and someone was having coffee that day.Catch me [and my energy], coffee, it’s over. ”
