The end of Dan Patrick is in sight.
On Wednesday’s “The Dan Patrick Show,” the crew discussed throwing money into the Powerball ticket pool.
At this point, Patrick said he would keep working as long as he wanted to keep the show going.
Then producer Marvin Prince raised his hand and asked Patrick how long he would work.
“Four more years,” said Patrick.
Patrick’s show airs on Fox Sports Radio and Peacock.
Prince said he didn’t believe the host and predicted he would kick the can again when the four-year deadline expired.
“No,” said Patrick.
“I’m going to do this for about four more years before December. I’ll be on ‘The Golden Bachelor’ by January 2028.” that’s it. That’s all I do. That’s when the mic finally turns off.
“I’ll take the hair ornament and give it to Fritzie.” [producer Todd Fritz]”
Patrick joked that he would be a fishing guide in Montana or Costa Rica when he retires.
Patrick is 66 and will be 70 when he plans to retire.
Later, a caller lamented the announcement and told Listeners they needed eight more years.
“No, no, no,” said Patrick.
“This is a youth game.
He has hosted the eponymous show on ESPN radio since 1999, and left the station in 2007 to take over the show himself.
