Thanks to TikTok, which went viral from a pregnant creator, the world can now try Waffle House’s waffle burger hack. I shared what happened when I went and tried to make a waffle house. Did.
Video courtesy of creator Jasmine Smith, posted her waffle burger debacle on TikTok on Thursday. So far, TikTok has amassed nearly 470,000 views and many comments as of Saturday.
This video is just 5 seconds of watching a Waffle House cook attempt to hack the Waffle House Waffle Burger. In the original video, the Waffle Burger is a decadent serving perfectly rendered, with meat, cheese, bacon and onions balanced between the top and bottom waffles. In Smith’s video, it’s not so much, with some patties and other ingredients casually falling off-center between waffles. There are also a lot of waffle overhangs compared to those in the original video.
@theprettyestj1 This is what my waffle house gave me after i showed the video 😂 #wafflehousehacks #look #entertainment ♬ Original Sound – Jasmine Smith
The on-screen caption swears, “Never again,” adding, “This is what Waffle House gave me.” The accompanying caption read, “This is what Waffle House gave me after I showed them the video.”
One commenter assessed, “They threw that shit in there.”
The creator replied, “The master immediately returned to WAFFLE HOUSE.”
Another commenter who joined the thread opined, “This disappointment was real.”
Someone else asked Smith. She simply replied “yes”.
At least one commenter suggests that this may have been a half-hearted effort as a sort of passive-aggressive resistance to the extra effort required for hacking. Others suggested taking matters into their own hands, not considering that people usually don’t go to restaurants and order food if they prefer to cook at home in the moment.
Others, however, claimed that they would eat this attempt at a waffle burger.
“Personally, I wanted to eat this in one bite,” said one.
Another added, “I would have brushed it off even then.”
One commenter revealed plans for the future, including the Waffle Burger hack, stating: There’s a good chance I’ll be ordering this weekend at this high price. ”
The Daily Dot reached out to the creator via Instagram message and Waffle House reached out to the company’s media relations department via email.
