Cruise Beckham wants to “prove himself” in the music business.
The 19-year-old star, who is the son of David Beckham and Victoria Beckham, has been working on his music career for years and is currently planning to release some songs later this year.
A source told The Sun’s Bizarre column: “There are high expectations for Cruise and his music is slowly but surely coming together.
“We plan to launch it this year so people can hear what he has been working so hard on for years.”
Cruise wants to establish himself as a star in his own right, rather than relying on his parents’ fame and success.
An official said: “There’s a lot of excitement around him as a singer, but he’s also acutely aware that he needs to prove who he really is and not just be accused of being a neobaby. That’s why he took so long to perfect the music.
“A lot of money has been spent to bring him into a room with some of the best minds in the business, and the results are promising.”
Cruise previously admitted that he writes songs based on “personal experiences.”
The musician also revealed that he has learned to play various instruments such as guitar, piano, and drums.
“I also learned how to play the mandolin for a song I wrote,” Cruz said in an interview with iD Magazine.
“I don’t think I’ll ever stop learning, but I’ll take my time and see what happens.”
Cruz initially considered following in his father’s footsteps and becoming a professional soccer player. But ultimately, Cruise decided to follow his mother’s lead and pursue his music career instead.
He said, “I wanted to play soccer and I played a little bit of soccer. At that point I decided this was exactly what I wanted to do.”
