LONDON, Aug 14 (Reuters) – Coutts finance chief Andrew Kyle has left NatWest’s private bank, according to company filings. In his resignation, a spokesperson said it had nothing to do with recent turmoil over the bank’s handling of big clients. Nigel Farage.
Kyle stepped down in March and Coutts is in the process of hiring a replacement and plans to announce it around September, a spokesperson told Reuters on Monday. A spokeswoman did not give a reason for Kyle’s resignation.
Kyle, who was born in August 1980 according to company filings, was not immediately reached by Reuters for comment on Mr. Coutts’ resignation.
Coutts CEO Peter Flavel said on July 27 that former Brexit Party leader Farage had resigned after NatWest CEO Alison Rose resigned over similar issues. He announced that he would take “ultimate responsibility” for his mistake in closing bank accounts and resigned.
NatWest faces intense scrutiny over Mr. Coutts’ decision to cut ties with Mr. Farage. Farage began publicly expressing concerns about his treatment in late June.
An internal investigation obtained by the politician-turned-TV host found that Coutts’ wealth reputation risk committee said his values were not aligned with those of the bank. .
Ms Rose confirmed she had discussed details about Ms Farage’s account with a BBC journalist before leaving.
