Fans are participating Philadelphia Fan Expo From the early days, I learned one or two things about how to navigate the fair with ease. One of them, Josh Steinhouse, has participated in nearly 100 disadvantages over the past 20 years, including the Philadelphia Fun Expo. Those familiar with the expo may have seen Steinhouse’s work at a previous event specializing in nerd and pop culture balloon art in his business. Geek balloonist.
Working with years of experience as an attendee and these types of events, Steinhouse shared with us via email what he called his “attendant con-“Obligation“He hopes he knew when he attended his first expo.
Learn ropes
“If you’ve never been to a scam before, study how it works,” Steinhouse said. “[The Philly] In particular, Fan Expo attracts around 50,000 people! You need to be aware of how to meet your favorite celebrities.
“In general, if celebrities are not in the panel or photo manipulation, they sign the table. But they’re just reading the blog, watching the video, and being prepared, making it perfect for major events like this.”
Steinhouse also warned that Saturday was the busiest day, so plan accordingly and be patient with the crowd. He suggested bringing a child’s stroller with him to carry a sturdy bag or a child’s stroller and avoid juggling purchased items by hand.
Take care of your money

The second tip for Steinhouse is to be careful about your spending as you want to open a lot of your wallet all weekend. He recommended that participants prepare a budget to map spending before the competition. “It’s always best to think about how willing you can use it,” Steinhouse said.
“Tickets, signs and photos are listed on the website, but there are plenty of things you need to pay for. Food, parking/transport, shopping, add-on experiences… you need to keep a general number in mind,” he added.
Steinhouse also advised attendees to bring cash to the event as participants are the preferred payment method for many vendors. What’s worse is that you’ll be stuck on an endless ATM line and have to pay a large fee for service. That is, if the machine is not running out of money.
The best option is to buy souvenirs and other items online in advance. “The more you buy online and get ready, the less you need to worry about buying from CON itself,” Steinhouse believes. “That means it’s a more budget feel and you don’t need that much cash.”
Use app/research

What Steinhouse encouraged its fans was to download the Philly Fan Expo app and study the venue map. “The Fan Expo, and most major drawbacks, are apps. They have floor plans and maps and have maps that show where everything is. You should be familiar with this because the space is always big,” he pointed out.
“The Philadelphia Convention Center is only three city blocks. Understand the layout, entrances and exits, different levels, and different levels. Save time and stress,” Steinhouse added.

Spare parking lot

Transportation near the venue is scheduled for the weekend. We’ll attract 50,000 peopleI checked it on their website. One way to avoid the extra headaches proposed by Steinhouse is to book a parking lot in advance. “If you’re driving, be prepared for traffic, many pedestrians and serious shortages in parking,” Steinhouse warned.
However, participants can book spots in advance without hassle, using the app and the Philly Fan Expo website. “The best garage is across the street above Trader Joe at Arch St. between the 13th and Broad,” Steinhouse revealed. “But it fills up quickly, so book in advance and get there early!”
Please wear comfortable shoes

This should be easy, but many people forget to wear the right footwear when they know the photos and forget that your icon is relevant. Steinhouse noted that if participants were not ready they would record with many steps that would cause their feet to get rough.
“Wear around and wear shoes that you feel are OK,” Steinhouse said. “And if you’re going to cosplay, make sure you can move whatever you’re wearing, walk and see comfortably. Iron Man Costumes made from real metal alloys may be very cool, but trust me, you will regret it by 2pm if it is not lightweight and the airflow is bad. ”
Look at the food line

Food may be the last one, as packed activities are offered throughout the weekend, but it can be easily factored if you plan ahead. Steinhouse is the best time to instruct attendees to learn where the food is and buy it to avoid the line.
“The Line is much busier at noon than 3:30pm, so try and try eating off-peak,” Steinhouse said. “You’re not supposed to bring food [convention] Center, grabbing a bite before you enter is not a bad idea either. But you’re definitely hungry, so don’t wait until the “hanger” is set, the line is 45 minutes and you get your high-value chicken fingers,” he advocated.
During a conversation with us on Facebook, another veteran attendee, Christopher Walter, was also the artist who sold his work at the event when it was named Wizard World Philadelphia, and as the days were packed full, he asked others to stay hydrated during the event. He also encouraged exposition people to buy experts from vendors. Philadelphia Fan Expo writes notes on its website Outside food and drinks are prohibitedIt is important to study maps, look at food lines, and budget your money.
I’ll go to the panel soon

With so many things going on, you can easily distract yourself and miss out on the opportunity to see the most anticipated guests. So Steinhouse suggested getting to the panel early to secure good seats.
“In parallel with understanding the map, you learn when and where the panel is,” directed Steinhaus. “A big one with a major star is always filling up quickly, so getting to the door early is always the best bet. You’ll still be behind someone who has a VIP ticket or a specialized seat, but line 6 is better than line 60.”
Please shorten your questions/interactions

Another of the “participants’ con-” by SteinhouseObligation“It shortens questions and interactions with guests. This is simple fan etiquette, but I’m not always upset when I’m particularly excited to meet my favorite star.
“If you’re on a panel of Q&A (or even a celebrity table), don’t forget that you’re not the only person,” Steinhouse recalled. “Yes, meeting your favorite celebrities is exciting, but just gushing about it and taking the time to gather your thoughts from others or blow your tears away, and everyone behind you will be furious.”
Instead, minimize conversations with the stars and make sure everyone has equal opportunities to connect with them. Steinhouse also advised participants to ask questions clearly and accurately during the panel and proceed so that the next person can speak.
Follow safety guidelines

Another point that both Steinhouse and Walter emphasized was that it was worth noting is that participants should respect others in cosplay. Needless to say, it’s an important reminder to ask before touching someone’s outfit or trying to take a photo. The Philadelphia Fan Expo has a fun and relaxed atmosphere where like-minded individuals gather to enjoy the phenomenon of pop culture. However, everyone is respected in this field and needs to freely express their love for the character they like through their outfits without feeling uncomfortable around others.

Overall, the Philadelphia Fan Expo is a comfortable and interactive experience, with thousands of returning home and new attendees looking forward to the festival next month. However, many events are most enjoyable on the game plan, but that’s the case here. We (and your fellow attendees mentioned here) suggest that you refer to these guidelines and the Expo website before and during the event to maximize your weekend. Please note that these are just fan experiences at the fair. These guidelines may vary depending on other participants.
