Academy Award winner Cillian Murphy is all set to return to the world of Peaky Blinders. An upcoming film starring Murphy as Thomas Shelby has been greenlit by Netflix. His character is a war hero turned gangster who rises to the top of the crime world in 1900s Birmingham. Plot details for the upcoming film are scarce, but it is said to be a sequel to the Netflix series.
The screenplay for the film was written by none other than Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight, and Tom Harper, who directed the first film, will reprise his role in the film.
Steven Knight will co-produce the film alongside Caryn Mandabach, Murphy and Guy Healy, and the film will be produced in association with BBC Films.
