On “Extra,” “Sister Wives” stars Christine Brown Woolley and Janelle Brown talk about Season 19, a season of highs, lows, and big changes in their lives.
Janelle said, “It’s like the second chapter of The Next Generation. We’re both going to start over in different ways.”
Christine added: “I think it’s a reign of independence. It’s a lot of independence, it’s a lot of personal growth.”
Although her marriage to Kody Brown is over, the women are “wishes him the best.” “I don’t really have much interaction with him,” Janelle added.
Christine shared her two cents and said: My heart aches for him because his children are the best people I know. His children are phenomenal people and I love having them in my life. ”
Janelle said: “They’re just the glue of a family, right?” We feel like we’re revolving around these kids. ”
Christine opined: You and I are the glue because we decided to remain “sister wives” after that. I didn’t have to, but I talked about it. After I told everyone I was quitting, you came and talked to me and I was like, “What does this mean for us now?” I’m like, “We’re fine,” but it wasn’t until we went on vacation together that I realized we were actually the glue. ”
Janelle somewhat disagreed and said, “Maybe.” Come on kids, they have a secret texting thread but Christine and I aren’t in it, it’s ride or die text… They all talk, we’re always up on what’s going on I don’t know. ”
Christine said she wishes Kody would call his children more. . You have to respect that. ”
Janelle added, “There are bridges that have been burned. I think there can be reconciliation, but it’s going to take a lot of work, and I really feel like the burden of that work is on Kodi.”
Christine said of their continued sisterhood and bond: “I raised my children with her. We have grandchildren together, and our children are siblings.”
“There’s more shared history than with my own sister,” Janelle said.
When asked about adjusting to a new life without Kodi, Janelle replied: There are many relationship dynamics and reasons why we can be irritated with others. And now I feel like we have almost all the good stuff, all the history, but not all of the many relationship challenges. I think it’s almost become easier for us. ”
Christine is currently married to her husband, David Woolley, and you’ll see everything from their dates to their wedding!
She commented: “Sometimes I think I show a little too much. We share a little too much PDA. I’m sorry about all of that, but at the same time, I loved living it.”
“When I get the clip, I’m like, ‘Fast forward, fast forward, fast forward,'” Janelle joked. It’s like, “I’m with you, so you don’t have to see it.”
Christine gushed: “I love relationships where I can be as open and loving as I want to be.”
She said of how her life with David has changed: “I’m in a partnership now. I have a partner. And he’s always there for me. I feel safe in that…He’s always there for me, always, and loves me.” It’s so amazing, so deep, so rich, but I feel like I’m more independent now than I ever was, and I feel like I’m doing more than I ever have before… the depth that we have. The level of I didn’t know existed is amazing to me. ”
Christine also noted how “simple” her life with David is now, saying, “If something were to happen, I would just talk to David and figure it out between us. It used to be It got done, compared to when we had like a committee of adults and we all had to figure things out.”
This season, we get to see Janelle and Meri reunite.
Janelle explained: “Once our marriage ended, there wasn’t much that connected us or that we had in common. I never had any ill will… there was no ill will between us, but… For example, we found common ground in the challenges we were both facing, so we came together for that…That’s different. It means we’re definitely going to go on vacation or something with Christine. It’s a little different, but I really enjoyed working with her.”
Regarding her position with Robyn, Janelle said, “I’ve never really seen Robyn or Kody. I’ve met Kody, but with my son passing, of course I’m going to interact with Kody more.” But I’m not like that.” We’re not really together, I don’t have any conversations with them, I just wish them happiness, they live separate lives, and I just live my life. I’m planning to go. ”
Janelle also opened up about how her family is doing after the devastating loss of her son Garrison Brown. she said: “We’re all in a really good space. I feel like it’s actually brought us closer. We’re really checking in on each other now. We’re asking questions about mental health now, We’re waiting for the real answer. We won’t necessarily ignore it.”
