Chris Hemsworth spoke with “Extra’s” Melvin Roberts as he was awarded his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Did he dream of this when he started?
He said, “There’s always this weird combination of my biggest possible dreams and fear. It’s about controlling those two things, they both have a purpose, and sometimes fear pushes me up and purpose pulls me down.”
“I would drive down this street on my way to auditions and imagine a day like this,” Chris recalled, standing on Hollywood Boulevard. “But what I feel now, and I didn’t realize it then, is a deep gratitude to those who helped me get to this point. This feeling is shared by many of my family, friends and colleagues.”
Mel asked him, “Are you really the second best Chris or the best Chris?”
He joked, “Oh, I’m probably third or fourth… I’m a big fan of the others.”
Robert also wondered whether his three children, whom he has with wife Elsa Pataky, understand what’s going on today.
“Well, last night my daughter asked me, ‘What are you doing tomorrow?’ and I said, ‘Oh, the Star Ceremony.’ She asked, ‘Are we going to Six Flags?’ and I said, ‘That’s the next day.’ She said, ‘Okay, that’s great.'”
He continued, “I think that helps keep them grounded and they have that ‘Oh, great, this is great’ moment and then they go back to normal life like they should.”
Hemsworth continued, “I’m glad they were here. It means so much to me that they were a part of this experience, and one day we can all look back on it and chuckle and enjoy this moment.”
