China’s catlthe world’s largest supplier of EV batteries, announcement On Monday, a series of new incoming products, including the battery, claimed by IT, are setting up a “new global record of ultra-fast charging technology.”
In a WeChat post, the company’s Compentary Amperex Technology Company Ltd. said the second generation extended battery can add driving ranges from just five minutes to 520 km (323 miles) of charging time.
This appears to put CATL fast charging ahead of the Chinese EV giant Tesla Rival BYD surprised the industry last month with a charging system that claims to be able to add a range of about 400km to the battery in about five minutes.
Some analysts are skeptical of BYD’s claims and are focusing on potential technical hurdles and high costs. However, if proven viable on a large scale, the technology will help the EV industry reduce consumer concerns about the scope and convenience of electric vehicles.
CATL’s latest claim will be comfortable ahead of its cutting edge charging speeds than its Western competitors. Tesla’s latest supercharger can add up to 270km in 15 minutes, Mercedes-Benz Group recently I said One of the batteries can be charged up to 325km within 10 minutes.
According to CATL, the new Schenkung product offers a range of 800 km and 1.3 megawatts of peak charging power. He added that the battery is superior to the highest charging level in the industry in low temperature environments of -10°C.
On Monday, CATL revealed a new battery within its “Naxtra” series. This has said it will be the “world’s first mass-produced sodium-ion battery,” reducing the EV industry’s dependence on lithium.
According to the company, sodium ion batteries help reduce maintenance costs and can be run at extreme temperatures from -40°C to +70°C.
One of the NAXTRA batteries is especially for large trucks, offering a service life of over eight years, while reducing life cycle costs and more efficient than traditional lead-acid batteries, CATL added.
CATL’s deep Shenzhen stocks listed on CATL were up about 1% on Tuesday.
The company applied for listing in Hong Kong earlier this year. According to Report The deal is expected to raise at least $5 billion from Reuters, citing sources familiar with the issue, and could become Hong Kong’s biggest IPO since early 2021.
