Celebrity esthetician Nurse Jamie, the beauty expert on the Netflix series Skin Decisions: Before and After, is one of the thousands of people who lost everything in the Los Angeles wildfires.
“Extra” mentally returns with nurse Jamie to the rubble where his Pacific Palisades home once stood.
“It’s like a war zone out there,” she observed. Fighting back tears, she said, “You always hope that there might be something left. Like a little something.”
Jamie called it a “shocking moment” and stressed there was “nothing left”.
She spoke candidly about how quickly things unfolded, saying: I took photos, got my passport, and bought shoes that didn’t fit. And I know all of this, I know it’s just, but I just, I worked really hard for this. It was my dream. This was my dream home in the Palisades, and the kids loved it here. ”
Jamie is a single mother of teenage triplets who has suffered the devastation of losing her home.
She commented: “My son keeps saying he’s going to come back and get something. I try to explain to him that he has nothing to gain. So I feel sorry for these kids. . No one really understands what’s going to happen. It’s hard for these kids, and many of their friends won’t be coming back because they don’t have a home.”
In the face of such collective and personal grief, nurse Jamie still has hope that she can return one day.
She emphasized: “There was no place like the Palisades, California. There was just nothing, nothing like it. It was a little hidden gem. It’s going to take a long time to rebuild.”
