Carrie Underwood spoke with Terry Seymour of “Extra” after the first “American Idol” live show of the season.
She said, “Tonight is a massive cut and it’s on top of us that saves people. That’s a problem when you have so many talents. There’s hope that we all will miss.
After winning season 4 of “American Idol,” Underwood returned to the stage at the Easter Sunday show, performing “How Great Thou Art.”
Terry said, “People are just saying, ‘Can we carry the winner again?” “I pointed out.
The singer said, “I actually have a dream… I often win once to “American Idol”, but in my dreams I know I won. It was “want to try again? So, no, I don’t want to do that, but it was a great night.”
Carrie also cooked again on the emotional final night of her Vegas residency, closing a big chapter in her life and sharing how proud she is of what they have achieved on the show.
“It’s very bittersweet,” she said. “I compared it to graduation. It’s knowing it’s coming and you’re excited about anything coming, but as you know, closing that chapter of your life like that is a big deal.”
Terry also spoke with Carrie’s fellow “Idol” judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.
Lionel praised Carrie as “natural” as a judge, as Carrie was “there.” Lionel shared the reaction to former judge Katy Perry’s space trip.
After the sad news of Pope Francis’ death, Lionel recalled seeing him and that he was “in contact with ordinary people.” Lionel also spoke about meeting football star Lionel Messi recently, named after him!
Luke also spoke about the “Idol” cut, contacted Perry and said he was texting her after his space trip.
