May the fourth be you! What better way to honor Princess Leia herself, the late Carrie Her Fisher, than at the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony on May 4th?
Fisher received a star on the Walk of Fame on Thursday. Grauman’s, across from his Chinese Theater, brought the original “Star Wars” to the screen and introduced Fisher, then 21, to the world. The daughter of Hollywood legend Debbie Reynolds, Carrie starred in no less than five Star Wars films before her death in 2016 at the age of 60.
The daughter of the late actress, Billie Lourd, accepted the star on behalf of her mother. Speaking on the podium in front of hundreds of costumed fans on the occasion, she shared what this honor means. .
“My mother used to say that you weren’t actually famous until you were a Pez dispenser. Well, people eat candy out of her neck every day. Until a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.” , never really become famous,” said Billy. “Mom, you can do it.”
For the special occasion, Billy was also joined by Carrie’s “Star Wars” co-star Mark Hamill to speak to the audience.
“Carrie was one of a kind who belonged to all of us, whether we liked it or not. She was our princess. Damn.
Her mother’s siblings Todd, Joely, and Tricia Fisher were notably absent.
On Wednesday, Billy explained why he didn’t invite his aunt and uncle at length. Statement to The Hollywood Reporter After they publicly reacted to the omission.
“A few days after my mother passed away, her brother and her sister chose to process their grief publicly and take advantage of my mother’s death. We did multiple interviews and sold individual books for big bucks.

Loud went on to call out her aunt and uncle for the statement they shared about not being included in Carey’s Walk of Fame ceremony. “The post Fisher posted on Instagram once again confirms that my instincts were right,” said Billy.

She said, “The people who knew and loved my mother at Disney and Lucasfilm made her this star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame to honor her legacy. It’s about Carrie Fisher and all she’s accomplished and what she meant to the world.
Carrie’s star is a close companion to her “Star Wars” castmates Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill.
