Carol Burnett was honored at Variety’s 2024 Power of Women: Los Angeles event.
The 91-year-old icon revealed to Extra’s Terry Seymour that Palm Royale may be her last acting gig.

He founded the foundation in 1968 after his wife Leonore was diagnosed with Huntington’s disease, which also put his daughters Alice and Nancy at risk. ”
Starr continued, “She worked tirelessly in the search for the gene responsible for Huntington’s disease. In 1983, thanks to Nancy, the Foundation miraculously discovered Huntington’s disease using her clinical data.” We identified the gene. This surprising discovery initiated genetic testing for Huntington’s disease and laid the foundation for all subsequent research on the disease.”
Barnett said Wexler’s work is “advancing research” in ALS, Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease.
