A Carvana customer said the company refused to repair the car after it was sold with the wrong tires and the warning light came on 10 minutes into the drive.
In a TikTok storytime posted on Tuesday, Tera (@ittotallynottera) detailed their car-buying experience with Carvana. Carvana is an online used car retailer known for its multi-storey car vending machines and virtual car buying and selling.
In the video, Tera said the car’s dashboard warning light came on just 10 minutes after she started driving her new car. It’s unclear if she was able to test drive the car before she purchased it.
She said she wasn’t happy with the light, but thought it would be an easy fix. When she started inspecting her car, she noticed that the tires were “really small” and looked “goofy”. After checking her tire size, she realized she was indeed the wrong size. She said one of her tires had a “pretty deep” cut, one of which was a different brand than the others.
Tera claimed that she called Carvana, but the company refused to replace her tires with a properly fitting set.
“So I now have a car that I can’t drive because it’s all-wheel drive. It ruins the drivetrain,” she said. “Hmm, what the hell?”
She added that after speaking with a Carvana representative for an hour, she learned that the company’s seven-day money-back guarantee didn’t cover shipping and time.

Despite Terra’s frustration, some viewers commented that she ended up in that situation choosing to buy from Calvana.
“Your first mistake was buying a car from Carvana,” one viewer commented.
“Former employee here. I will never buy a car from Carvana. Never. Ever. Never,” another viewer wrote.
“Buying a car from a vending machine should have been the first,” said a third.
In a reply comment, Tera wrote:
Others advised Terra to return the car, saying that the tires might be just the beginning of a series of problems with the car.
“Pay the shipping and get out,” advised one user.
“You have seven days to say you don’t want the car. Give it back now!” another user urged.
“Give it back, tires are just the beginning,” commented a third. Terra said, “I think so. If they didn’t get this right, what else might they have overlooked?”
