Canadian actor Kenneth Mitchell, known for his roles in the Star Trek: Discovery series and the movie Captain Marvel, passed away at 49 on Saturday after a five-year battle with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). He died at the age of His family confirmed the death on social media.

For five and a half years, Ken faced a series of terrifying challenges from ALS. And in true Ken fashion, he was able to overcome each one with grace and his determination to live a full and joyful life every moment.
He lived by the principle that every day is a gift and you never walk alone. His life is a shining example of how fulfilled people can be when they live with love, compassion, humor, inclusivity, and community.
