Paris Paloma burst onto the music scene last year with her viral chart-topping hit “Labour.”
The catchy, empowering anthem about female conquest and gender roles has spawned TikTok trends, millions of streams, and legions of fans. Please take a look video!
Paris recently opened up about the song to Extra’s Adam Weissler, saying: I wouldn’t have written that song if there wasn’t already a societal debate about the exploitation of women in relationships. ”
She continued: “The way it sounded was really great. It was a big song for me and I still feel very vulnerable. It’s very much about feeling frustrated and defeated as a woman in the face of the patriarchy.” It depicts real emotions.
The British singer-songwriter has recently released her debut album “Dissonance.” Paris told Adam: “The whole album…feels very vulnerable to release. These songs served a purpose emotionally. The whole female experience…These are very real songs, and at the time I was writing them. It was very necessary. The whole album is a rich and at times very dark journey, of coming to terms with oneself and coming to terms with everything that has gone through us. This is the album for me.”
