The Bucks added rookie corner Chris Isien to Friday’s injury report after he missed practice due to illness. He was listed as questionable Sunday. This will be a big concern for the road game against the Texans, as the Bucs have two talented wide receivers who can handle yards after the catch well.
If Isien is unavailable, Tampa Bay will likely play Dee Delaney or Zion McCollum in the slot, but McCollum is better as an outside corner. Isien is a cause for concern, but the team was in a similar situation in Week 6 when Shaq Barrett missed Thursday and Friday practice with an illness, making him questionable but unable to play. Ta. I hope Yijien recovers quickly enough from his illness before he sets off on his road trip.
Aside from Isien’s surprise, Tampa Bay is back to the status quo. During practice on Friday. Tristan Wirfs, Vita Vea, and Keavon Meriwether participated. Logan Hall and Matt Feiler once again missed practice. After practice, coach Todd Bowles ruled Hall and Feiler out of Sunday’s contest, saying everyone else was “in.” The Bucks still gave Merriweather and Bear the questionable designation.
The Texans have some concerning injury issues, with starting running back Dameon Pierce and wide receiver Robert Woods out. They are two key pieces to the Texans’ offense, led by rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud. This gives the Bucs defensive unit a huge advantage, as Texas is missing several good players. Hall is giving the Bucks a lot of playing time, but Via’s return will be a big boost up front as he plays against a fourth-string center. Tampa Bay has struggled to apply pressure lately, but Vea still leads the team with 3.5 sacks.
Aaron Stinney, who played well last week, will start in Feiler’s place at left guard for the second straight game. Starting in Hall’s place for this game will be a committee of Will Golston, Greg Gaines, Mike Green, and potentially Deadline Sennert or Pat O’Connor from the practice squad. Baer and Kariya Kanshi will start on defense.
