Thursday’s injury reports for both the Bucks and Lions were released this afternoon, and each offers some big news regarding injury designations. The biggest news for Tampa Bay has to do with wide receiver Mike Evans. He has been upgraded to a limited-capacity player as he returns from a hamstring injury in time to suit up in a Creamsicle uniform.
Other notable news includes Bucs right tackle Luke Goedeke practicing fully after being limited on Wednesday. The more optimistic status on his status bodes well for a big matchup with Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson.
While both of these updates are positive developments, it wasn’t all clear on a mostly rainy day in Tampa Bay. Outside linebacker Shaq Barrett did not practice due to illness. The team will be hoping he feels better and can put pressure on quarterback Jared Goff by game time.
The other seven players on the team’s injury report (all defensive backs) appear to be ready to go, with all listed as full players. This gives head coach Todd Bowles plenty of reinforcements as he tries to get his squad ready for battle.
Switching gears to the Lions, the team leaving the Motor City added a notable player to its injury list. Rookie tight end Sam LaPorta, who had already emerged as one of the best players at his position, sat out due to a calf injury. His status will be closely monitored, as he is already one of Goff’s biggest weapons. Running back Jahmil Gibbs and center Frank Ragnow also sat out. It was a rest day for Gibbs, who missed his second straight game to deal with a hamstring issue, while Ragnow had a rest day.
While everyone else is out, one of Detroit’s star players is back on the field. Wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown missed last week’s game and was limited Wednesday, but played the full game. Bringing him back into the lineup as a primary target means the Bucs’ secondary will have to deal with yet another playmaking receiver besides Josh Reynolds and Jameson Williams.
The rest of the Lions’ injury report was pretty much the same as yesterday, but left tackle Taylor Decker was also upgraded to full capacity.
