The dust has settled from a highly entertaining game in which the Chiefs defeated the 49ers in overtime in Super Bowl V. Naturally, when football season ends, everyone wants to focus on the next season. Next season begins with odds of each team winning the Super Bowl, including the Bucks.
upon Covers.com, They announced Super Bowl odds for each team for the 2024 season, with the big game to be held in New Orleans in 2025, based on DraftKings and FanDuel projections. During the Patrick Mahomes era, the Chiefs were 3-1 in the Super Bowl. In Super Bowl LV, Tampa Bay dominated the game 31-9 at Raymond James Stadium, giving the Bucs their only loss.
Unsurprisingly, the Chiefs are still near the top of the list of teams to win next season. Somewhat surprisingly, the San Francisco 49ers, the team they just defeated, are not the overall favorites as they have the best odds at +550. Kansas City ranks second at +550, followed by the Baltimore Ravens (+900), Buffalo Bills (+950) and Detroit Lions (+1,200).

These are early Super Bowl odds and will likely change, especially for the Bucks, as the offseason progresses and roster changes occur and we get closer to next year. Currently, the odds for the Bucks to win the next Super Bowl are +6,500. That means if you’re confident enough in Tampa Bay, a $100 bet will earn him $6,500, which is a pretty good payout.
The Bucs are No. 22 on this list, so Las Vegas doesn’t have very high hopes for Tampa Bay’s success heading into next season. Last year, many expected the Bucks to be among the No. 1 overall picks, and Las Vegas set the over-under for wins at 6.5, but Tampa Bay beat that with nine wins in the 2023 season. .
Among the teams in the NFC South, the Atlanta Falcons, led by new manager Raheem Morris, have the best odds in this division. In second place is Tampa Bay, followed by the New Orleans Saints at 24th, and last place, the Carolina Panthers at 32nd. Carolina has former Bucs offensive coordinator Dave Canales, who spent one season with Tampa Bay, as its head coach.
It will be interesting to see if this is the best odds for the Bucks. At this point, we don’t know who the starting quarterback will be. Baker Mayfield is a free agent Star wide receiver Mike Evans is also set to become a free agent, so there’s no guarantee he’ll return. Mayfield intends to return to Tampa Bay, and it’s clear the Bucs want Mayfield back. But if another team swoops in and makes Mayfield an offer he can’t refuse, Tampa Bay may have to look for other options at QB.
When it comes to Evans, his mother is often called out about his overall interests and intentions outside of wanting a big paycheck, and that’s no surprise. Based on what we know about Evans, he wants to win more than anything and he loves playing in Tampa. Evans isn’t necessarily going to give the Bucks a hometown discount, but it would be surprising if he chooses somewhere other than Tampa if the offers from other teams are the same as the one from the Bucks.

In addition to Mayfield and Evans, they need to make sure to re-sign first-team All-Pro safety Antwon Winfield Jr., who is arguably the best safety in the league. They also want linebacker Lavonte David, a future Bucks Ring of Honor member, to return if he wants to continue playing at age 34.
It’s also important to remember that it’s in the Bucs’ best interest to sign left tackle Tristan Wirfs to a contract extension before playing with a fifth-year option worth just over $18 million in 2024.
The Bucks’ front office has some heavy lifting, but it’s nothing that general manager Jason Richt and assistant general manager Mike Greenberg can’t handle. Last offseason, it was much harder to get through free agency because the team didn’t have much cap room, and they also faced challenges maintaining the roster after winning Super Bowl LV.
If the Bucs can re-sign key pieces, the odds will certainly improve, but the payout will be smaller if Tampa Bay wins it all. So it might be best to believe the Buccaneers will make the right move and grab the pick now before they hit free agency and many of their star players return.
