No one on the Bucks’ offense was satisfied with the six-point performance. in their recent match. This group, which was supposed to make a huge turnaround this season, has received some criticism after averaging just 18 points per game through the first five games of the year.

However, all is not lost on the offensive front and there is no one against each other during this struggle. What we can look at as a positive is that the offensive players are learning more about themselves along the way. It’s also important to note that he’s only been in five games with the Bucks implementing this new offensive system. So it’s a little far-fetched to think this is the best production Tampa Bay has seen.
Bucks are accountable to each other in every unit of the group. Offensive coordinator Dave Canales hinted that this offense had yet to show all it could offer and loved the way the offense was taking ownership of their performance.
Canales shared a story Thursday about an incident he witnessed during practice this week when no media or cameras were around. He expressed his vision of what he wants this offense to look like, and we saw the early stages of it this week.

Although the Bucs are a young team, they have a number of veteran leaders and quarterbacks known as natural leaders who have played at the highest level and reached the top of the NFL. Dave Canales saw some of that leadership in action this week in practice.
“Yesterday, you guys weren’t at practice, so I just wanted to share a little bit of time with you guys, and the seriousness with which our players came together in the huddle yesterday,” Canales began. “I’ve seen them talk a few times in practice. They’ve talked about it and my best vision for this and our offense and my best vision for us long-term. takes ownership of being a group that can work on those things together in a huddle.
“I got chills a few times. It felt like I was really there, just reading the paper, because Baker was talking to the wideouts and the linemen were together. Because he’s talking and communicating with his tight ends. Yesterday’s game was a great example of what we’re looking for and how Hainzu and these guys are really taking ownership of this offense. It’s theirs. Yo.”
What Canales emphasizes is that everyone has to play their part, including himself. He decides the game, but even if there are open players, he has to get the job done. Canales doesn’t want it to be ‘his’ attack, he wants it to be ‘their’ attack.
“We give them a plan that they’re excited about, we give them a play that they love, hopefully, and from there we take ownership and really drive it and on Sunday, we’re where they’re going to play. I need to go,” Canales said. “They’re not an extension of me, they’re not an extension of their coach. This is their team, this is their offense, their defense, their special teams.
“I believe we’re moving in that direction, and it’s been really cool to see how hard the players have been working in the huddle and in the locker room and talking to each other the last two days. .”

Are the Bucks angry at how they play?

After the loss to the Lions, quarterback Baker Mayfield said the offense: It was necessary to play “pissed off”. When asked if they should, Canales sounded as if he thought the same thing, although he didn’t necessarily mean to say so specifically.
“Yeah, I think so too. I think that’s kind of what he’s hinting at, but I don’t know if he’s angry,” Canales said. “Make no mistake, this is ours and we’re just going to stick to it and take on the responsibility and ownership that it’s ours. I love where we are and where we’re going.”
It tells us more about the leadership this unit has.
“It’s amazing,” Canales said. “And that’s the great part, too, because we have good veteran leadership on the offensive side. Now it’s like, ‘Guys, we give you permission to lead.’ . We set each other an example of how to lead in a positive way. they are doing it. We can see it happening to us too. ”
