The Buccaneers signed long snapper Zach Triner on the same day, which was just the first of several moves they made on Tuesday. The reason for signing Triner was that Evan Deckers was placed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury that will keep him out for the next four games.

Tampa Bay also announced that it had signed punter Trenton Gill and cornerback Keenan Isaac to its practice squad. To make room for them, the Buccaneers also waived punter Seth Vernon from the practice squad.
Overview of Buccaneers roster changes
During 2024 training camp in Tampa, Deckers and Triner competed for the starting spot, with Deckers winning out at 25 years old and eight years younger than Triner at 33. This was in part due to Deckers’ cheaper contract. Triner will continue his NFL career with the Buccaneers, and it will be interesting to see what happens when Deckers leaves. Become available Also.
Isaac joined the Buccaneers last season as a rookie on their practice squad. He was waived during roster cuts in training camp this season and briefly joined the Panthers’ 53-man roster. Isaac was soon waived and then returned to the Buccaneers. The entire roster is dealing with injuries, with cornerback Bryce Hall also being hit with a loss this season.

Tampa Bay has starters Jamel Dean and Zion McCollum available, undrafted free agent rookie Tyreek Funderburk is available and Tavierre Thomas can play multiple positions, so Isaac could be an insurance policy for the team.
When the Buccaneers signed Seth Vernon in training camp, he was seen as an extra leg to give Camarda some rest despite Jake Camarda’s struggles, but those issues continued for Camarda through the first two games of the season. He was excellent Week 3.
The newly signed Gill has NFL experience and could be a viable option to handle punting for the Buccaneers, who continue to lose confidence in Camarda. Gill was selected by the Bears in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He has played in 34 NFL games and completed 133 punts in his career. He spent this year’s training camp with the Broncos.
Depending on how Camarda performs against the Eagles in Week 4, his once-promising future with the Buccaneers could be in jeopardy if he doesn’t improve his punting. Camarda is also very useful on kickoffs, but punting is his top priority and Tampa Bay wants him to be more efficient.
