With prospect visits and workouts continuing ahead of the NFL Draft later this month, the Bucks had another draft on Wednesday. bottom. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport tweeted.

in the meantime some mock drafts Another Texas running back, Bijan Robinson, is expected to be selected by the Backs in the first round, but Johnson is more in line with what teams are looking for. However, he is the first running back to leave the board, and Tampa Bay has pressing needs that need to be addressed. Projected to be a mid-round pick with a complementary skill set.
At the NFL Combine, the Bucks didn’t meet with Robinson. the team met with johnson However, in an informal capacity. Now, with Tampa Bay trying to gather more information ahead of the draft later this month, a big bruised back is coming for a visit.

With the release of Leonard Fournette earlier this offseason, the Bucks now have White, new signers Chase Edmonds, Keyshawn Vaughan, and Patrick Laird in the running back room. Adding Johnson to the mix would give the group a new level of power.
At 6 feet and 219 pounds, Johnson is very physical and runs strong. He’s a solid complement to what Tampa Bay already has at the position. The former Longhorn has posted a 45% tackle failure rate over the past two seasons, according to Pro Football Focus.
Johnson also excelled in the ball security aspect of the game, finishing his college career with just one failure. This would be a big plus for the Bucks coaches, especially new offensive his coordinator Dave Canales and new running his back his coach Skip his Pete. Additionally, Johnson is a competent pass protector and has a lot of special teams experience.
Johnson is no stranger to complementary play either, having been stuck behind Robinson in Texas. Nevertheless, he managed to put together an impressive and consistent four-his season at Austin.
2019: 123 carries, 649 yards, 7 TDs, 5.3 average
2020: 80 carries, 418 yards, 6 TDs, 5.2 average
2021: 96 carries, 569 yards, 5 TDs, 5.9 average
2022: 93 carries, 554 yards, 5 TDs, 6.0 average
It should be argued that Johnson was even more deserving because he did less work in college. Sample numbers and output may take a hit, but he may have fresher, less tread tires than a running back who carried the ball 200 times per season at the college level.
Johnson is currently the 126th ranked player. PFF big board, which puts him in range for the fourth round. The Bucks currently don’t have a fourth-round pick, but general manager Jason Licht has shown a penchant for making trades on draft weekend for years.
Along with his skill set, Johnson is the type of person Bucs are looking for

For the Bucks, just as important as Johnson’s physical running, ball safety and overall skill set is the fact that he is loved by his teammates and coaches. Towards the end of last season, Texas’ Steve Sarkisian, his head coach, spoke enthusiastically about Johnson’s impact on the Longhorns’ program and his team’s first-place attitude.
“When I think of what a Texas Longhorn footballer is, I think of Roshon Johnson because he’s a selfless player,” Sarkisian said. “He’s not a star, he’s not a University of Texas running back, but that never gets in the way of his work ethic. It never gets in the way of his approach. It doesn’t get in the way of things, wanting to do well for the team, wanting to win.He could probably start at many other schools, but what does he do? Make the most of every time you get
“He doesn’t count reps, he makes them count. He starts with four special teams. Every time I see a young player, I ask myself, ‘How can I be more like him? has a bright future in football, but thanks to him as a human being, he probably has a brighter future away from football.”
Robinson, Johnson’s backfield mate in Texas for the past three years, also spoke highly of him at last month’s NFL Combine.
“First of all, Rochon is the best teammate I’ve ever had,” Robinson said. “Of course he’s a running back, but I think he brings a lot to the players and the team. How he’s a leader, not just to his teammates, but to everyone in the community. I don’t think it’s been overlooked for me who he is as a human being and what he does on the football field, because he makes his presence known and makes his presence felt.
“But Rochon is a man and I think he’s another great running back in this class. I think his toughness and his heart are what sets him apart.”
Bucs has been a big influence on high character guys, especially under Licht’s command. Former team captains and leaders are all over the team’s roster. So it’s easy to see Licht and Co. hold Johnson so highly, both as a player and as a human being.
