The Bucs continue to bring cornerbacks to team facilities for official visits. Kentucky Maxwell Hairston recently posted a photo on his Instagram Story One Buccaneer location from his visit.
It was also in Hairston Official visit with Bucs at the NFL Scouting Combine He then became one of two cornerbacks with both formal visits and 30 official visits with Tampa Bay, joining East Carolina’s Soap Level Jr. Tampa Bay.
That’s not surprising given that Tampa Bay wants to move ahead of next year’s starter, Jamel Dean.

Kentucky’s Maxwell Hairston isn’t the biggest cornerback at 183 pounds at 5’11, but he was the fastest cornerback at the NFL scouting combine. Hairston burned 4.28 hours on a 40-yard dash, making him the fastest player at this year’s combine.
Tampa Bay head coach Todd Bowles prefers taller cornerbacks on the outside and longer, but he also likes speed. And it’s certainly a Hairston calling card.
Hairston had five intercepts in 2023, including two picks six and six pass breakups. These ball skills certainly attracted the attention of the Bowles. Bowles said he wants the Ball Hawks this year. Tampa Bay only had seven intercepts last year, six of which came from the secondary.
Hairston only intercepted in addition to splitting four passes last year, but that was another pick six that gave him three in his Wildcats career. He was limited to just seven games last year due to a shoulder injury. Hairston is considered his second pick.
