At first glance, pretty much everything looked the same for the Bucks during Friday’s practice. This was their second practice this week after playing football on Monday night. Once again, Lavonte David, Bucky Irving, Greg Gaines and Sterling Shepard were missing.

The expectation was that Irving has been dealing with a chronic toe injury and is expected to be unable to practice frequently for the remainder of the season. As we learned from offensive coordinator Liam Cohen, the Bucs hold a special “Bucky Walkthrough” at the end of each week to make up for him not practicing that week.
“That’s what we did last week before Saturday practice,” Cohen said. “Before that, we had another walk-through as a unit, and it was really Bucky’s walk-through. So we’re going to have to continue to do that and get up to speed with him.”
Shepard ran separately on at least another field. inches closer to play. David was at least seen in the locker room, which is a good sign that he will be available for Monday’s game on the road against the Chiefs.
Big injury news for key Bucs DB

The big difference in Friday’s practice was that free safety Antoine Winfield Jr., who was out the previous day, was added to the injury report. Winfield was listed with a foot injury and had limited practice.
Of course, it was the foot injury that kept him out from Weeks 2 through 5. It is unclear at this time whether this is the same leg that relapsed or a different leg.
Tampa Bay has some good news for rookie nickel corner Tykie Smith. On Thursday, Smith practiced in a Brock non-contact jersey. To start Friday’s practice, Smith upgraded by wearing his regular practice jersey. This means he is close to being released from concussion protocol.
We’ll find out Saturday if Smith is fully recovered and ready to go. His practice status was also upgraded from limited to full participation.
