Why/how did you get started in real estate?
I graduated from Florida State University as a marketing major and started working as a marketing assistant for Peter Boss at Regatta Bay in Destin, Florida. Developing and building that communityI made it clear to him that I was not interested in selling property — I was there to participate in marketing.
Peter saw something in me very early on, but had little idea what was going to happen next. You just get a license, so if someone comes in, you’re talking to someone who has a license.” At the time, it made perfect sense to me, 23 years old.
About a week after I got my license, the community sales person left and Peter looked at me and said you were being transferred to sales. I mentored under excellent developers and fell in love with development and new construction.
Starting the WaterColor Inn in Regatta Bay and working with St. Joe opened the door for me to work in the WaterSound Beach field, which led to everything else in my career. I have never done luxury, new developments, or new construction, so I bring something very unique to investors and clients.
My knowledge of the area literally dates back to the days of the soil. I know all roads, all infrastructure.
What would you like more people to know about working in real estate?
To have a successful and long-lasting career, you should approach real estate the same way you would own a brick-and-mortar store. You are the company CEO.
To be successful, you cannot work in real estate part-time. If you want to open a cupcake shop, you can find the perfect space and get the perfect cupcakes. Don’t just open the door and hope someone walks in and buys you a cupcake.
You don’t bake cupcakes for a week and then take a vacation. I know I get up early every day for at least five years to bake cupcakes. Tell all your friends, bring samples, host events, push social media. to
I know it takes time. There will be tears, there will be victories. You work hard, make sure goals are set each year, and have a business plan and budget.
Real estate done right is the same thing, and the rewards are just as great. It’s the only career that builds on itself, offers income levels for years beyond the typical retirement bar, and rewards you in the long run with ongoing business.
Five things to know about you and your broker:
- I am an expert in connecting and able to help my clients build their wealth through real estate investments. It goes all the way back to the luxury real estate niche that allowed them to thrive by making it successful.
- Both myself and my broker specialize in new construction developments. We build our own properties through planned communities and new construction homes and developments. This is not something most other brokerages can say. This allows us to provide agent connectivity for inventory in a way that is unmatched.
- I have a genuine desire to lead and build the businesses of others. It laid the foundation for our company culture and what we wanted to change in the real estate industry.
- Corcoran Reverie provides the highest level of instruction and training for agents of all levels. New agents and seasoned veterans will find high-touch, first-class training and service to help their business succeed. We are deeply invested in our agents and their success.
- Everyone pitches technology as a value proposition, but of course, we offer our agents amazing technology that matches or exceeds our competitors. At Corcoran Reverie, we don’t just lead with the technology we have, we highlight this wonderful and vibrant culture we share. Because culture is important to us. Technology is easy and available to everyone. We do too, but we can’t agree with or create the Reverie culture that we have.
What do you know now that you wished you knew when you started?
It’s about having a real, real CRM (including all drips and campaigns), getting everyone you’ve ever met into that CRM, and using it every day. Not only can you have all your contacts in one place for her (which is amazing), but the connectivity to your realm over the years is priceless.
How many more people could I serve? I am also thinking about where my career would have been if I had had access to that service, or if I had made the most of them. Today we have all the tools that humans have known, but some agents are still not leveraging them. This makes no sense to me.
Please tell us about the highlights of your career at a brokerage firm.
Partnering with Corcoran and being able to more than double the size of our brokerage firm in the first year without losing our corporate culture has been a career highlight so far.
Honestly, it was a little crazy when it happened, but I could see that fundamentally we didn’t lose who we were and thrived after such a drastic change. rice field. It was incredible to be so successful at the beginning of COVID amid the shutdown.
Since then, we’ve seen agents double, triple (and even more) in business because of our mentorship. This is also the highlight of my career. That’s what you want for your family — that the next generation is better than you. That’s what we want for Corcoran Reverie — Our agents’ success far exceeds ours. What a legacy!
