SANTA CLARA — After a three-day break, the 49ers will return to their practice facility on Monday for a light afternoon practice.
Shortly after the 49ers’ 31-13 victory over the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday at Lumen Field, quarterback Brock Purdy turned the page to focus on the team’s Week 13 opponent, the Philadelphia Eagles. I wasn’t ready to start matching yet.
Purdy’s 28-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Aiyuk midway through the fourth quarter sealed the victory for the 49ers, making them the first team in franchise history to beat the Seahawks on the road in back-to-back seasons.
“We just won on Thanksgiving,” Purdy said. “We’re going to enjoy this. We’re going to take the next few days to recover and clear our minds. Once we have a game plan, we’ll get into it next week.”
“Right now we’re having fun. Obviously, it’s going to be a big thing on the road. We know that. We all know that. We’re going to take our time and enjoy this piece. intend to.”
After Monday’s practice, the 49ers will have Tuesday off before settling into their regular schedule. They practice Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The team is scheduled to travel to Philadelphia on Friday afternoon.
Purdy went on the run and spent his free time with his fiancée, Jenna Brandt, at a nursery in Half Moon Bay. They bought a tree and Christmas accessories, according to her posts on social media.
The 49ers vs. Eagles matchup will pit the teams currently in first place in the NFC playoffs. The Eagles (10-1) have his best record in the NFL, but the 49ers are currently 8-3 and he is the No. 2 seed in the NFC.
The game has been highly anticipated since the 49ers traveled to Philadelphia for the NFC Championship Game and Purdy suffered a torn elbow ligament in the first quarter, effectively eliminating his chance to play.
The Eagles won 31-7 and advanced to the Super Bowl, but lost to the Kansas City Chiefs 38-35.
When the 49ers faced Philadelphia in the playoffs last season, there may still have been doubts about Purdy’s ability to succeed at the highest level.
In his first full season as a starter, Purdy led the NFL with a passer rating of 112.3. His average of 9.4 yards per pass attempt leads the NFL, a full yard ahead of Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and Houston Texans rookie CJ Stroud.
