Tickets for Brightline from South Florida to Orlando on the railroad officially went on sale Wednesday morning, with the first purchase date set for Friday, September 1.

“Brightline’s guest and travel markets have been vocal and we want to respond by opening ticket sales through late summer and early next year,” said Patrick Goddard, president of Brightline. “While we are finalizing an official launch date, guests can now book their trips for the Labor Day, Halloween and New Year holidays.”
Brightline is nearing the final stages of a service first proposed over a decade ago. The service will connect South Florida with Orlando at speeds of up to 195 mph, making Brightline the fastest train service in the Southeast. Brightline estimates that 35 million people travel between central Florida and Miami each year.

Rail construction of the St. Lucie River Bridge
Restoration work on the St. Lucie River Railroad Bridge continues this month as Brightline completes that section of the bridge, one of the last major steps to complete the route to Orlando.
A three-week, 24-hour closure of the 98-year-old bridge began May 1.
The bridge will be closed until Monday, May 22nd at 6am. Vessels requiring an opening will be blocked during this period. The nightly closure of the bridge will last from 22nd May to 29th May from 8pm to 6am. Workers work on the bridge 24/7 to complete the work on time.
High-speed testing continues up to 110 mph
Brightline continues testing high-speed trains that will accelerate the 129-mile corridor between West Palm Beach and Cocoa to 110 miles per hour.
The test, scheduled for May, will run from Wednesday, May 31 through Sunday, June 4, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on a 32-mile track section that includes multiple railroad crossings through Martin and St. Lucie counties. is scheduled in
Sign installers are located at 14 of the railroad crossings between Midway Road/County Route 712 and State Route A1A where the high speed test will take place. Brightline works with law enforcement agencies in all areas.
High-speed testing, at speeds up to 110 mph, will continue in stages along the corridor over the next few weeks. The public has been reminded to be vigilant near railroad tracks and to obey the law near railroad crossings.
Bright Line’s “qualifying train operation” begins
Brightline will continue to operate eligible trains between its South Florida location and Orlando, an important step before operations begin.
There are no passengers on the affected trains. The operation will provide Brightline locomotive engineers and conductors with the opportunity to learn and navigate a new 168-mile stretch from West Palm Beach to Orlando.
According to Brightline, qualified train operations help conductors and engineers familiarize themselves with intersections, signals, curves and speed limits.
Once this additional work is completed, Brightline will undergo a certification process by the regulatory agency, the Federal Railroad Administration, before it can begin service.
How much is a train ticket?
Brightline one-way fares from Miami to Orlando start at $79 for Smart and $149 for Premium. KidsSmart one-way fares start at $39. Smart Fare Bundles for families of four are available for less than $199 each way. A check of the Brightline app Wednesday morning showed that a one-way smart ticket from West Palm Beach to Orlando on Sept. 1 costs $79, while a premium ticket costs $149. found. The first train is scheduled to leave West Palm at 8:07 and arrive in Orlando at 10:15 am. The fare from Orlando to West Palm Beach is the same.
Passengers can buy tickets at the station, You can also buy online. Discount fares are available for purchases made 2 days in advance.

The company also announced that it will continue its daily commute schedule between Miami and West Palm Beach. Early morning departures from West Palm Beach at 5 AM and evening departures from Miami by 12:45 AM.
How long does it take from the train station in South Florida to Orlando?
Brightline connects passengers from Miami to Orlando in about three hours. Estimated travel times from South Florida stations are:
- Miami to Orlando: 3 hours.
- Aventura to Orlando: 2 hours 45 minutes.
- Fort Lauderdale to Orlando: 2 hours 30 minutes.
- Boca Raton to Orlando: 2 hours 15 minutes.
- West Palm Beach to Orlando: 2 hours.
Brightline uses a high-tech Wi-Fi system
Brightline will be the only passenger rail service to offer Starlink’s high-speed, low-latency broadband service. Designed and operated by SpaceX, Starlink is powered by the world’s largest constellation of advanced satellites operating in low Earth orbit.
Internet service is provided free of charge to all Brightline guests.
A “Golden Spike” ceremony will be held at the end of June
To mark the opening of the historic railroad, Brightline officials are considering recreating the “Golden Spike” event.
This golden spike was the final spike of 17.6 ct gold driven into the ground to join the rails of the first transcontinental railroad across America on May 10, 1869.
The Central Pacific Railroad’s railroad was connected to the Union Pacific Railroad at Promontory Summit, Utah. The spike is currently on display at Stanford University’s Kantor Center for the Arts.
