90-PLUS: It’s time to remember Martha Carlett, better known as “Aunt Mart.” Saturday April 29th would have been her 96th birthday, but she was reunited with her husband and other her loved ones on June 25th, 2019. My Christian friends always brightened my day with their giggles, genuine joy, kind hearts and kind words. A longtime resident of South Point, Ohio and a member of the First Baptist Church of South Point, she has always inspired and blessed me to be in her midst. I love to cook and sometimes wonder if I am still preparing meals in that heavenly mansion.

Basket: The Vintage Longaberger Basket Bingo fundraiser will begin on Thursday, May 4 at 6:00 PM at the Boyd County Extension Office at 2420 Center Street in Catletsburg, Kentucky. Doors open at 5:30 PM. door. Door prizes, raffle baskets, 50/50 and snacks available for purchase. Proceeds benefit Boyd County homemakers.
93: God has done so well for Lillian Estep, who turns 93 on Saturday, April 29th. This wonderful Christian woman is a longtime family friend of hers and she is two years older than my mother. It’s unclear how her special event will be celebrated, but her brother Burgess wants to take her on a nice visit to Pullman’s Square. No matter how you spend your day, may it be as special as this “young” friend.
Raffle: The 27th Annual Historic Preservation Raffle will be held on Sunday 30th April at the B’nai Sholom Congregation. Doors open at 12:00 noon, drawing will take place at 1:00 p.m. Up to 500 tickets will be sold for his $125 each. Hymn: The Milton Presbyterian Church will join the Milton United Methodist Church in singing a hymn on Sunday, April 30th at 11am. A soup luncheon follows.
Over 50: Carolyn Bird Williamson’s daughter, Kimberly Denise Bird Poston, will be turning 52 on Saturday, April 29th. Kim has been with the Float Pool Division/Pediatric ICU at Cavell Huntington Hospital since May 1992. , love, happiness, family, friends, health, and fond memories.
MEETINGS: The Huntington Women’s Club will hold its regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, May 3 at noon in the Brad D. Smith Foundation Hall at Marshall University.
