“I was able to find out about this cancer when it was still at stage 0 because the day I got a text message saying it was time for my annual mammogram, I made an appointment,” Fishel emphasized.
Danielle said she always thought she would “suffer in silence” if she were diagnosed with cancer, adding: “My first instinct when I was diagnosed was to keep quiet… but then I realised the more I spoke, the more people with my experience would be exposed.”
She urged listeners to be diligent about their health and screenings, saying, “I’m a busy person, so I go to the doctor’s appointment a lot, even though it’s much easier to be honest with you. It’s easy to say, ‘I don’t have time. I had a mammogram last year and it was fine.’ But I didn’t have one and it was caught early, so I think I’m fine.”
