Oscar Wilde said, “With age comes wisdom.” I would like to add it if possible. But if you spend some time working near the nation’s capital, you might realize that Wilde was very wrong.
Still, baby boomers (sadly, I’m at the tail end of that group) have some wisdom to share with Gen Z. Millennials have already paid their dues enough that I think they might know something. The last Millennial generation was born in 1994, so all of them are almost 30 years old or older.
First of all, boomers are not smarter or better than newer generations. The YouTube generation has a way of learning that most older people will never master. We are just experienced.
I am sure that every new generation has cornered the market around youth and brains, but at the end of the day, we realize that youth turns into middle age and golden age. My generation is always better than the one before it. No matter what happens to my generation.
The Rise of Millennial Parents
It is worth noting that the band that wrote the song “My Generation” also grew old, like any other band. To quote the song, “I wish I died before I got old.” Pete Townshend, who reportedly wrote these memorable lyrics, turned 78 in May. Oops.
To all the Zoomers reading this, one day you’ll be old enough to be ridiculed by the young. That’s why it happens. General Alpha, you are on deck.
As for brains (brains! Shout out zombie movie fans!) they’re not all that great if you don’t know what to do with them. That’s why wisdom is so important. So let me offer you some wise goodwill.
Please answer the phone. You are part of the texting generation. Text, chat, or email is better. I use text messages, Facebook Messenger, Signal, Twitter, Telegram, and hieroglyphics to communicate with young people. OK, that last part is now called an emoji. I’m adaptable. Try it. In the business world, you need to attract people. Many of them are older than you and actually use the phone to converse.
But there’s more to it than just preference. I can’t understand the intonation or tone of the sentence. The sarcastic comment that turns you on (we know it happens a lot) may actually be a joke that you would have laughed at if you had heard it out loud. Text messages and emails are also often ignored. If you call someone, you can identify them. It’s more immediate. It’s more personal.
Millennials feel they are missing out on a ‘golden opportunity’ to buy a home
The Washington Post has another piece of advice: “New phone etiquette: Text first, never leave a voicemail.” I know you’ll be shocked, but this post is wrong.
Yes, you have to work: McJobs is fine while he’s young. But they don’t pay enough for the finer things in life, like food other than ramen. Don’t just take boomer’s advice on that. The most successful people are the hardest workers, regardless of age. Taylor Swift has earned her place at the top of the music industry by spending hours on each performance. Her potential boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, also worked hard to become the best player at his position in the NFL (ahem, that word).
And then there’s Mr. Beast, IRL’s Jimmy Donaldson. The YouTube phenomenon is just a workaholic in his 25th year, but he’s built a global brand of his videos, philanthropy, and food products called his Feastables. he is not lazy. Try it.
But working hard is not enough. The old expression is true. It’s not what you know that matters, it’s who you know. Network and make friends with people who are especially good at bringing in money, or who know someone who is. That’s the real reason people go to famous universities.
calculate: As I type, I hear a scream. Yes, real-life finals require math. It takes math to figure out how much you can spend on taxes, tips, and stuff. Forget calculus unless you use it for work. You don’t really need Algebra II or Trig or most of the rest of the stuff you learned in school. But mathematics is power.
New poll questions millennials’ ability and ambition: ‘Go out and find a job’
Many young people end up with large amounts of debt in college because they are bad at math. If he borrows $100,000 to get a degree and earns $30,000 a year, you haven’t learned enough math. Your generation, and most of the generations before you, don’t know basic numbers. They didn’t have strict nuns forcing them to study multiplication tables (thank you, Sister Lyudmila!), and they never learned to do basic calculations in their heads. Therefore, you don’t need to learn much to advance to the top of the class.
A Grand Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks only costs $6. Of course, enjoy it as a reward. Buy one every day for a week for $42. Buying it or the equivalent every day for a year would cost you $2,190.
It’s not the price of coffee. This could be money for several car payments or even student loans. make a budget You’ll be able to see where you’re spending your money. And cut out unnecessary things that you can’t afford. It’s all math.
Learn how to do things: Your parents were smart. (They are smart enough to bring you into this world and get you this far.) The reason they were able to afford all the extra things like food and clothing was probably because they didn’t waste money. is. All those little things your parents did saved a lot of money. It only costs him one load of a small sewing kit to sew the buttons. If you pay someone, it’s about $10 each time. Laundry is even more troublesome because you have to do it all the time. If you can help it, don’t buy too many dry-clean-only clothes. Dry cleaning can put a huge strain on your budget.

Learn to cook. It’s much cheaper than buying takeout or Uber Eats. You don’t have to be good at it. Learn how to make your favorite foods. Get recipes from family members and ask them to show you the steps. They will be overjoyed.
Please be cautious of your health: Millennials already know that their health begins to decline even in their 30s. Injuries that heal quickly when you’re a teenager take longer to heal as you get older. Therefore, eat better and have a proper training strategy that includes weights as well as cardio. Create a list of trusted documents and refer to them regularly. This includes dentists, eye doctors, etc. Preventing something from happening is much easier than fixing it later.
Injuries and illnesses are almost inevitable. Be careful if they happen. If you are injured, try physical therapy to help you recover. You will really appreciate this.
