Mercedes-Benz and BMW has unveiled an electric concept car aiming to catch up with Tesla in the luxury market.

Mercedes-Benz Concept CLA Class
The Mercedes-Benz Concept CLA-Class is built on the so-called Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture (MMA), a new platform designed by the German auto giant for electric vehicles.
The range comprises four new models: a four-door coupé, an estate and two sport utility vehicles.
Mercedes claims the car has a range of 750 kilometers (466 miles) on a single charge. The company also claims that the battery can be charged in just 15 minutes, allowing the car to travel 400 kilometers.
Mercedes touted the concept CLA class’ fast-charging capabilities and long-distance hitters.

Mercedes places great emphasis on interiors and user experience. The company said it is developing its own operating system for cars called MB.OS. It powers everything from giant screens on your dashboard to voice assistants in your car.
It will also allow the vehicle to integrate third-party apps, such as your favorite music and video streaming apps.
“This unique chip-to-cloud architecture represents an entirely new approach for the company and will be a defining, though largely hidden, aspect of all future vehicles,” said Mercedes-Benz. said in a press release.
Mercedes said it focused on digitizing the interior of the Concept CLA class. This includes support for virtual assistants and third-party apps.

BMW Vision Neue Classe
The BMW Vision Neue Klasse is BMW’s answer to Tesla. It is also built on a new architecture that will underpin BMW’s future electric vehicles.
The first electric vehicles based on the Neue Klasse (New Class) architecture are expected to go into production in 2025.

BMW says the car will have a head-up display called Panoramic Vision, which projects information onto the windshield at the driver’s eye level.
The company says it will be available first in Neue Klasse. BMW says both passengers and drivers will be able to operate the panoramic vision function.
There were few details about range and charging. However, BMW said the new generation of technology will improve the charging speed of Neue Classe models by up to 30% and increase the driving range by up to 30%.
BMW says the Vision Neue Klasse electric car has all the classic features for which the brand is known. BMW said the 21-inch aerodynamic wheels “pay homage to a classic cross-spoke design inspired by motorsport.”
