DUBAI (Reuters) – A loud explosion was heard at a military factory in central Isfahan, but security officials said there were no casualties, Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB said on its website early Monday morning. I told you.
“The explosion occurred at one of the defense ministry’s ammunition production centers and the Deputy Governor of Security Isfahan said there were no casualties,” IRIB reported.
Official Mohammad Reza Jannesar later told state television, “The causes and factors that caused this explosion, as well as the damage, are under investigation and .. will be announced later.”
Over the past few years, there have been a series of explosions and fires near Iran’s military, nuclear and industrial installations.
The explosion has at times raised concerns amid tensions with Israel and the United States over Iran’s nuclear program.
Israel has long threatened to take military action against Iran if indirect negotiations between Washington and Tehran fail to salvage the 2015 nuclear deal.
