With the national debt soaring toward a record $35 trillion, President Joe Biden on Monday unveiled a budget proposal that includes an eye-popping $8 billion for a “climate change squad” program.
With enthusiastic support from the architects of the Green New Deal, New York Democratic Rep. Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez and Massachusetts Democratic Sen. Ed Markey, Biden’s climate force calls for “tackling climate change.” With a clear but vague mission, the company plans to hire 50,000 government workers every year by 2031. Can you guess which political party these workers support?
The budget fulfills Biden’s State of the Union promise to triple the number of workers from the 20,000 workers he proposed last fall.

We can only speculate that the climate brigade will focus on fulfilling Biden’s 2020 campaign promise to “elimate fossil fuels.” Since his inauguration, his administration has done its best to fulfill this promise.

The Climate Change Corps has been likened to President Franklin Roosevelt’s Depression-era jobs program, but never before has a government program this wide-ranging been enacted or appropriated without Congressional approval. .
For comparison, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has fewer than 20,000 employees, as does the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Both of these agencies have clear missions, are funded through Congress, and are accountable to Congress.
Like the Biden administration’s “Special Presidential Climate Envoy,” the climate change force circumvents constitutional oversight from Congress. Details such as leadership, staff, selection criteria, and even budget are unknown. When so-called climate czar John Kerry brazenly refused to comply with requests for oversight, my organization filed a lawsuit. If past is prologue, the climate brigade is likely to adopt similar tactics.
However, this should not happen. Congress can and should use the power of its wallet to stop this thug from advancing. According to Article I, Section 9, Section 7 of the U.S. Constitution, “No funds shall be withdrawn from the Treasury as a result of expenditures made by law.”
Conservatives have learned the hard way how difficult it is to abolish government entitlement programs once they are enacted. Look no further than Obamacare, which Republicans tried and failed to ease in 2017 despite controlling all three branches of government. As President Ronald Reagan once said, “Government agencies are the closest thing to eternal life we have ever seen on earth.” ”

With polling numbers among young voters lagging behind Israel’s response to the war against Hamas terrorists, Biden will need a boner to dump them. The administration has already promised to sign a bipartisan bill cracking down on TikTok, but this will add fuel to the fire.
Mr. Biden likes to say, “Don’t tell me what’s important to you. Show me your budget, and I’ll tell you what’s important to you.” Applying that logic to the latest budget shows his $8 billion going to climate workers and his $4.7 billion going to border emergencies. That tells us everything we need to know about his misplaced priorities.

Even if the overall budget isn’t exhausted on arrival, Congress could use its constitutionally assigned powers to kill the Biden climate force before it even launches, and it’s possible they’ll seize the moment. Let’s hope you catch it. Republicans have complained bitterly about the weaponization of government and the targeting of political opponents. The thousands of young people who go door-to-door campaigning for climate change are likely to be both.

Gen Z should not be spending their tax dollars so they can knock on the doors of people who think they need climate education, nor should they be collecting signatures from people who support their policies.
A program of the scale of the Climate Change Corps must be stopped without Congressional approval, as it is blatantly unconstitutional. Failure to do so undermines the rule of law and threatens industries vital to our economy and national security.
