The Biden administration is setting booby traps in case a Republican wins the presidency in 2024.
The White House on Friday announced proposed rules that would make it even more difficult for the next Republican president to take control of the left-leaning federal bureaucracy and actually implement the conservative policies he promised voters.
Of the 2.2 million federal civil servants, only 4,000 are appointed by the president. The rest remain in office, protected by rules that make it nearly impossible to discipline or replace them, even when governments change.
FOX News Power Rankings: 2024 Republican presidential front-runners, challengers, and second-place candidates
They overwhelmingly support the left. According to Open Secrets, a whopping 95% of unionized federal employees who donate to political candidates donate to Democrats. Only 5% support the Republican Party.
Some high-ranking federal officials get away with it, slowing or even derailing Republican presidents’ policies.
If the leftist deep state will continue to be in power no matter who is elected president, why bother voting?
Republican candidates Donald Trump, Vivek Ramaswamy and Ron DeSantis have vowed to overcome this obstructionism.
Everett Kelly, president of the American Federation of Public Employees, argues that Republican candidates want to “politicize the day-to-day operations of government.” Nonsense. We’re not talking about the postman. It’s time to let lawyers, PhDs, and other top-level career bureaucrats carry out the president’s policies, not their own.
After Trump won in 2016, they went to town to neutralize him on almost every policy front, said James, a special assistant on the White House Domestic Policy Council under Trump. Mr. Shark explains.

Career lawyers at the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division flatly refused to challenge Yale University’s discrimination against Asian American applicants. Mr. Trump had to recruit lawyers from other departments. After Joe Biden became president, the Justice Department dropped the lawsuit. But the same career lawyers who refused to take the case against Yale filed a losing argument in favor of affirmative action in the U.S. Supreme Court.
Career health officials like Dr. Deborah Birx have sidestepped President Trump’s directives to ease coronavirus lockdowns. Lawyers for the Environmental Protection Agency pursued lawsuits against fossil fuel producers and withheld information from Trump appointees.
President Trump’s 2020 executive order mandated that new federal buildings be designed to satisfy the public’s preference for classic design. Instead, General Services Administration architects chose a modern design they liked. Mr. Trump cited the San Francisco Federal Building, the city’s ugliest building, as an example.
It continues, including the weaponization of the FBI against the president himself.
In October 2020, President Trump issued an executive order requiring federal employees involved in policymaking to be reclassified as at-will employees who can be fired.
But before that could be done, Biden became president. He canceled it as soon as he learned that his bureaucrats were on his side.
The rules announced Friday will delay the president’s ability to reinstate Trump’s orders. Congressional Democrats are going further, calling for a complete repeal of the president’s job reclassification powers.

The New York Times reported, “The Biden administration aims to make the federal workforce a challenge to President Trump.”
Mr. Ramaswamy has gone further than Mr. Trump, vowing to cut more than half of civil service jobs. “Speaking as a CEO, if someone is working for you and you can’t fire them, then they aren’t working for you,” he said in a speech on September 12.
New York Magazine jokingly claimed that holding employees accountable was a threat to good government, and that the Republican victory would bring in “a new class of federal appointees charged with partisan objectives.” I’m warning you what it means.
The Democratic Party and its media allies falsely glorify public servants, claiming that they protect “merit” rather than patronage.
Merit was the intent when the civil service system was created in 1883 by the Pendleton Act. But the benefits have largely disappeared. Scramble these five letters and you have a “timer” system. Federal employees receive higher salaries and greater benefits than private sector employees doing comparable work. And no matter how lazy they are, they rarely lose their jobs. They take their time and skate to a gold-plated retirement package.
This is the gravy train paid for by John Q. Public. That’s disgusting enough. But it’s even worse when these “public servants” prioritize their leftist leanings over the president and the people they are paid to serve.

Bravo to the Republican candidates who vowed to take on the deadbeat, left-leaning deep state and bring government back to the people. It’s a worthwhile fight.
Biden should be ashamed of himself for championing bureaucracy instead of democracy.
Not America.
