At 2 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was assassinated in Tehran, the day after Hezbollah supremo Fouad Shukr was killed in an Israeli attack in Beirut, Lebanon.
Shukr had been wanted by the United States for 41 years and had a $5 million bounty on his head for information on “rewards for justice” for his central role in the 1983 bombing of a U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut that killed 241 U.S. servicemen and wounded 128. Haniyeh also orchestrated and celebrated the October 7 attack on Israel that killed 1,200 people and led to the holding of hundreds of hostages, including Americans, by Hamas for more than 300 days.
Even more shockingly, Kuwait’s Al Jarida newspaper, citing anonymous sources in Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, reported that a high-level American security delegation brokered by Oman had secretly visited Tehran.
Their mission was to convey a “calm and warning” message to calm the situation and make Iran’s supreme leader understand that the Biden-Harris administration was “not informed” by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about the killing of two major terrorist leaders last week.
America’s reckless Iran policy has brought the Middle East to the brink of war. Now there is only one thing that can turn us back:
According to detailed reports, the US delegation, which arrived on a private jet from Turkey, landed at Karaj’s Payam-e-Khoram airport on Thursday and held two hours of talks with Iranian officials before returning to Ankara.
According to the report, “The delegation submitted a list containing the names of 10 Mossad operatives in Iran who the Americans believe were directly or indirectly involved in the assassination. It was intended as a good-faith response to the shocking attack by the State of Israel, which was carried out without coordination with Washington.”This may be one of the most valuable souvenirs recently presented to Iranian mullahs.
The State Department denied the report on Sunday, but later in the week Secretary of State Antony Blinken acknowledged that the Biden administration was “engaging in close diplomacy with our allies and partners” to de-escalate the conflict, delivering that message directly to Iran, largely confirming the Kuwaiti newspaper’s report.

Moreover, citing two Iranian people familiar with the investigation, The New York Times reported that shortly after the US delegation’s visit was announced, “more than 20 people, including senior intelligence officers, military officials and staff at a military-run guesthouse in Tehran” were arrested in retaliation for the assassination of the Hamas leader.
Iran delayed its retaliatory strikes against Israel, a move some in the Biden administration have claimed credit for. But on Monday, August 5, 2024, two major events made it clear that Iran’s supreme leader did not respect the Biden administration’s requests for de-escalation and did not appreciate American outreach. That day, Iranian-backed militias in Iraq attacked a U.S. military base, wounding five U.S. soldiers and two contractors.
At the same time, a high-level Russian delegation led by Sergei Shoigu, secretary of Russia’s Security Council and a high-ranking ally of Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin, visited Iran. The delegation, which included the Russian defense minister and several Russian generals, met with top leaders in Tehran.

They conveyed a direct message from Putin to his close aide, Comrade Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, ordering him not to take the reckless step of attacking Israel with outdated missiles on April 13, a move that would have resulted in humiliation. Putin promised to immediately hand over state-of-the-art weaponry, including air defense systems, to Iran.
Additionally, Pakistan’s Islamic regime has announced plans to provide Iran with advanced ballistic missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads in case the supreme leader decides to launch a nuclear attack on Israel.

It is clear that it was not U.S. diplomacy that was effective, but rather advice and directives from Russian military and intelligence services that influenced Iran’s decisions.
We are on the brink of World War III. Russia and Communist China are playing the chessboard of war. The Iranian regime will likely attack Israel with a nuclear bomb soon unless Israel, with U.S. assistance, destroys all of Iran’s nuclear and missile facilities, thereby giving the Iranian people the opportunity to overthrow the weakened regime of the mullahs.
