The House of Representatives (212 Republicans, 22 Democrats) recently condemned radical Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) for “making incredible falsehoods about our greatest ally, Israel, and the October 7 attacks.” ” and passed a resolution to censure the lawmaker.
One of those outrageous lies persisted in the false claim that Israel had bombed Al Ahly Hospital in Gaza. But guess what? Our professional “fact checkers” haven’t caught that lie…or that “from the river to the sea” is not a Hamas slogan about the annihilation of Israel, but rather a call for “freedom” and “peaceful coexistence.” This is an enthusiastic call.
For Democrats, so-called independent fact-checkers are rushing to correct critics of Tlaib, not Tlaib, just as they are rushing to correct critics of President Biden, not Biden. Perhaps those critics should be corrected, but so should Democrats, especially when they lie about alleged “war crimes.” The facts don’t always lean to the left.
PolitiFact says the 2020 claim is “mostly true” because Tlaib has only “fact-checked” it once in his four-plus years in Congress, adding that “Detroit paid $294 million to police last year. “We spent $9 million on medical care,” he said. . ” This is ridiculous because policing is an important function of city government, and government-funded health care is more of a state and federal government function.

Or is FactCheck.org the worst? Their Tlaib archive page lists eight fact checks, and all eight focus on Tlaib’s opponents. Or maybe Snopes.com? The search yielded 13 checks attacking anti-Tlaib posts (10 in 2019), but nothing evaluating Tlaib. Some were from satirical websites like “Taters Gonna Take.” LeadStories.com then flagged a post marked as clearly satirical, suggesting that Tlaib advocated for removing the American flag from classrooms.
Washington Post fact checker Glenn Kessler has not criticized Tlaib because he is currently busy going after former President Donald Trump and Republicans. But he issued a warning to Biden, arguing that Hamas’ body count in the Gaza Strip is not reliable.
Bar group asks Michigan State Bar Association to investigate and sanction Treib over anti-Israel comments
Reuters Fact Check has issued a warning on social media posts in recent days, warning that “posts about U.S. Rep. Tlaib’s place of birth lack context.” Someone on Facebook suggested that the lawmaker should be deported to her birthplace. Tlaib claims he was born in Detroit in 1976 to Palestinian immigrant parents. It is strange that Reuters said it was “lacking context” rather than “false”.
USA Today’s fact-checking team published a post with the headline, “Video shows Rashida Tlaib not supporting Hamas and protesting Trump in 2016.” They reported that “Mr. Tlaib was not protesting in support of Hamas. The video is seven years old and was filmed at an event for former President Donald Trump.”
What is strange about this fact check is that it points out that “the House of Representatives voted to censure her on November 7th for comments she made in the aftermath of the October 7th attack on Israel.” The “unbelievable falsehood” part is omitted. That determination.

The day before Tlaib’s accusation, Washington Examination commentator Zachary Faria fact-checked the genocide story. The incident began when Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) tweeted, “Rashida Tlaib is calling for the genocide of Jews.”
Rep. Cori Bush, D-Missouri, responded by saying, “This is a lie. This rhetoric is dangerous and must stop. It’s putting people’s lives at risk.” Faria ruled that “Mr. Bush’s pants are on fire.”
On November 3, Tlaib tweeted a video promoting protesters chanting “From the river to the sea” and “There will be no peace on stolen land.” It began with Biden’s declaration that “we support Israel” and ended with the assertion that “Joe Biden supported the genocide of the Palestinians.” All the fact checkers defending Biden failed to attack Tlaib for that!
