It was nice to see a Chinese spy balloon drop from Langley Air Force Base onto an F-22 Raptors on Saturday. It looked like an anti-aircraft missile had been launched.
Bravo! Kudos go out to the military pilots for their mission and I can’t wait to hear their explanations.
But the facts remain the same. We shot down this Chinese surveillance balloon on the wrong coast. It should have ended in the Pacific before crossing the American coast.
Pentagon reveals details of how Chinese spy balloon was shot down in one shot
How could President Biden have been so procrastinating after tracking this balloon for days? was.
China and the world watched as Biden struggled with critical military decisions. He hasn’t improved much since Afghanistan.
China’s reconnaissance balloon flight was Biden’s test as commander-in-chief, and he didn’t do well. On the contrary, the Chinese must regard this as a successful operation. Here’s why.
First, China didn’t need to retrieve this balloon. A receiver aboard the balloon continuously transmitted collected images, signals, electronic information and other information products to a Chinese satellite, which may have been transmitted from there to Beijing.
The espionage could also have included the radar, infrared, and electronic profiles of U.S. military aircraft had they not been ejected from the balloon’s flight path.
Biden says he allowed the Pentagon to shoot down a Chinese spy balloon days ago
Much of the US military airspace must have had to be freed from traffic and training exercises during the balloon voyage. was not possible.
For example, the balloon flew over Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri, home to nuclear B-2 stealth bombers. China also needed to see how US commanders reacted. This should yield a lot of interesting tactical and operational data.
But sadly, China has also acquired a large amount of valuable strategic information. And the real win was seeing how Biden and the team reacted. Clearly, China doesn’t care about Blinken.

Let’s check.
On Thursday, the Pentagon, caught by a civilian taking pictures, tried to tell us that it was no big deal that the reconnaissance balloon failed to intercept it before it entered U.S. airspace. no physical threats.
Well, it turns out we Americans didn’t like the Chinese spy balloon drifting behindrye across our skies.
On Friday, the Pentagon filed a lawsuit to shoot down the balloon by designating the intrusion as a violation of sovereign airspace and a violation of international law.

Finally, on Saturday afternoon, the Air Force called us and made us proud. (Perhaps some pilots will get a new callsign “Balloon Buster” for this.)
But by shooting down the balloon over Virginia instead of California, Biden gave China greater insight into his decision-making process. And it’s not pretty.
It took Biden and National Command officials days to deal with a single brass balloon making a slow coast-to-coast sweep.
Based on this delayed reaction, China could conclude, rightly or wrongly, that it needs to mess with Taiwan for at least a few days before Biden can carry out any military decisions. I have.

In summary, here is also a lesson for military planners. As we saw on 9/11, responding to threats within US airspace is not easy. The Air Force and Navy need resources to run more scenarios against Chinese balloons.
Still, next is Xi Jinping, your balloon will sink into the Pacific Ocean.
