The Biden border crisis is the worst in U.S. history, and it’s not even close. There have been at least 7 million illegal border crossings and nearly 2 million known escapes since President Biden took office.
It’s not just the southern border. Illegal encounters along some sectors of the northern border have increased by 700%. Hundreds of people on terrorist watch lists have been caught trying to enter our country, and more than 300,000 Americans have died from drug overdoses brought across the border. I’ve never seen anything like this before.
Don’t get me wrong. This problem was created by Democrats. Biden and the Democrats are just pretending to be interested in securing the border in an election year. If Biden actually wanted to secure the border, he could have left Trump’s border policies in place or reversed his own extreme policies by now. He has done neither.

That Biden’s sudden interest in border issues is a political stunt to make it look like action is being taken, get good press, and write campaign ads about how tough he is on illegal immigration. should be obvious.

Now Biden is adding insult to injury. Media reports say the border is so chaotic that the Biden administration is using Department of Veterans Affairs resources to facilitate medical care for undocumented immigrants. This is a slap in the face to veterans and taxpayers.
That’s why last week I introduced the Veterans Affairs Ban on Illegal Aliens Resources Act to the Senate. My bill is exactly what it says. It prohibits Veterans Affairs resources from being used to benefit illegal aliens, whether it’s medical care or medical claims processing. The bill already has the support of House Veterans Affairs Committee Chairman Mike Bost, who hopes Congress can pass it soon.
Biden supporters argue that there is no problem because the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reimburses the Veterans Administration for these services. However, this is incorrect. In fact, DHS leverages health care providers from the Department of Veterans Affairs’ Community Care Network, which was established to ensure that veterans have access to doctors in their towns for treatment of undocumented immigrants.

As a result, veterans are forced to go to VA facilities instead of relying on local doctors. It means the administration is prioritizing the needs of illegal immigrants over the needs of our nation’s veterans. It’s hard to think of anything more un-American.
There was a similar scandal at the Veterans Administration the last time Biden was in the White House. During President Barack Obama’s second term, dozens of veterans died while waiting for treatment. Then the VA lied to cover it up. Some of these people have been rehired by the Biden administration. Obama-era VA leadership did not fire criminals, citing job protections for federal employees.
No wonder such a large-scale crisis occurs at the border. People around the world know that just by dancing the waltz, they can enter our country, go to a blue state, receive free health care, free education, driver’s licenses, and even cash benefits. Meanwhile, the people of this country work hard, pay taxes, and face rising prices for almost everything. To secure our borders, we need to shut down the magnet that attracts illegal immigrants to this country.

Our veterans received medical service while wearing the United States military uniform. Illegal aliens don’t earn a dime from taxpayers. They shouldn’t be in this country. The contrast couldn’t be more vivid.
There is no reason why this bill should not become law. Abiding by the law, whether in the VA or at the border, should not be a partisan issue, and neither should taking care of our veterans. If Biden is serious about securing the border, he should urge Democrats to pass and sign this commonsense bill into law.
